Bought 2, 1 was fine but the other has a dud outlet. Still a decent product though. If they sent me another outlet I'd swap it but for now I'll plate it off.

Threw this up on a temp pole to get beat up by construction guys. The quality of the metal is solid. It was cheaper than assembling a similar item from home depot by an order of magnitude (2g bell box - $16, 2g cover - $17, 2x wr gfcis $25each-ish) and faster to assemble. Only gripe is the cover does not stay up. Gfcis are mystery quality so i wouldnt trust my life with it but hey what will you do? It's not listed but my Seattle area inspector didnt bat an eye at it.

This might be perfect for your needs, but I found it very annoying to work with. I would say it's built like a boxy tank, but one of the holes on the plate where you mount the outlets has already stripped, so the system has already failed (leaving one outlet prone to looseness). If I was the one who stripped it, then the material was inadequate, as I did not over-tighten the screw. Or maybe it was already stripped during preassembly. Keep in mind, these things are only minimally assembled. To wire it fully, you will need to break apart, keeping only their ground connection. (Incidentally, the outlets were pre-installed upside down, so you'll probably need to turn them around.) They use two different size screws that look almost identical for connecting the plate to the box, and the outlets to the plate -- which sets up some confusion. There's no way to prop the lid open, so you're always fighting it during installation (and I imagine there will be many times during normal usage that I will wish the lid didn't slam shut). It's held down with a spring-loaded ball-bearing that was so stiff I thought I needed a screwdriver just to open the lid. (Eventually I found you just have to pull super hard.) They provide different size plates for your power supply wiring, but no wire clamps, so you'll need to supply your own (and figure out how to seal the connection if you're trying to make it nature-proof). The design is more cavernous than suggested by most of the photos, but maybe this is to allow space for four separate plugs/wires to exit. The exit space at the bottom is huge, and there are plenty of gaps leading to the back-end space, so don't expect it will be sealed from fire ants, etc. Hopefully the design will keep enough rain out to make sure the GFCI doesn't trip too often (and the outlets are called "weather resistant," so hopefully that will help too). The TL;DR is: don't choose this because it's pre-assembled. You'll have to reassemble it anyway. If this is the kind of design that fits your needs, buy it. Otherwise, choose the elements you really want and put them together yourself.

I had so many outdoor outlets added to my last house and now this one needs more than the one that is on the house which isn't even a gfci or covered by more than the eaves. I have the 2 outlet size and love that it's 20 amp so I can not worry about using power tools and I won't have to unplug the string lights that will be on my future pergola. This is so much better constructed heavier duty than the ones I bought at the big box stores for the previous house. Yes it sticks out quite a bit from the house but it's safer that way. I had an extendable one that couldn't be closed for the weather if the plug wasn't flat and was like a normal plug with the cord coming out opposite of the 3 prongs that go into the outlet. Another one did have a cover that would handle the normal plugs but it had a plastic cover and this one with the all metal casing is so much sturdier and normal people couldn't break this plus I now live in a hurricane state and this box is the sturdiest I have seen and gives me the most peace of mind for withstanding if we get those low winds. The only thing that I would have loved on this but I understand it's not yet common on most outdoor outlets other than those that are built in to some of the pergolas on the market is if it had usb for charging electronics. But no complaints since if I do buy one of those pergolas, the outlet built into it can easily plug into this box. My only other hopefully short-term negative is the pressure require to push on the little pin to open this. I would have said that it was just my hand arthritis but even a guy friend was having a bit of an issue getting it open. I'm hoping that changes with use or maybe some WD-40 but possibly a design change where there's a little pull lever instead would be helpful? Besides that this price is amazing because I spent this for the much lower quality from big box. I will be ordering one or two more of these once I get my whole outdoors planned so I know where else I need these.

This is a very well made box with good GFCI outlets, 4 inches of height above the outlets for the plug and cord, and a nice spring loaded pin catch to keep the cover closed. But don't be fooled by the seller's photoshopped pictures showing this box mounted on a wall and on a post with no conduit or wires coming in from the sides, top, or bottom. They make it look like there is an entry on the back, but there is not. If you want to use this box as shown in the pictures, you will have to drill, punch, and deburr your own opening in the back. And if you live in an area like mine with lots of wasps and mud daubers, that big open area for the power cords on the bottom of the box is gonna be an open invitation. They will love this box. I'll have to make some kind of screen or foam plug for that opening. It's a good box, but maybe not the best choice for my area.
