The product allows the bad plants/grass not to go through. I like that it is thick so it prevent bad things from growing. Good scissors are needed.

The only down size to this fabric is how heavy it is to drag into the back yard. The appearance is black and look well like black fabric. It is very easy and strait forward to use. You measure the area, cut the fabrics and lay it down where you need to. The fabric is 50z.It’s a bit thicker than the standard 3oz. It was a good value for the money. I purchased 300 ft for a little over $100. It’s a nice quality product. As far as performance and how well it will keep the weeds from popping up only time will tell. I would purchase this fabric again but the 300ft is going to last me quite awhile.

I used this under some big rocks to cover an embankment. The material never tore even with placing large rocks on top of it. Would recommend

High quality, thick landscaping fabric. Was easy to work with and did a great job suppressing weed/vegetation growth in my rock bed. If I had one minor complaint, it is that the fabric is not very water permeable--it does drain off/evaporate eventually; however.

We put it down 4 years ago. We live in Texas and it gets rather hot. But it has not “weathered”.We ran over the edges with a lawn mower and it did fray the edges..BUT..it has NOT unraveled because of it…I just cut the frayed strings off and used lawn pins to pin it back..and it is working fine..Water stands on it…and evaporates, it does not seep through that I have seen.Nothing grows through it…it does EXACTLY what it is supose to do.I bought the 3ftx100 the first time….4 years ago…but I just bought two more rolls of 5x300 to place around the edges of the entire garden area. It is a great weed barrier and I highly recommend it.

I own at least six kinds of ‘landscape’ fabric/geotextile for various projects. I don’t love landscape fabric for weed control as a rule, but I do use it and geotextile fabric as a filter layer between rock and soil, so the gravel doesn’t sink into the clay, for example. I needed this kind because it allows good drainage of water after the rain, and another kind I had that is nonwoven had the micro-needling and didn’t let the water drain fast enough under a small paver patio I put together. I wanted something more permeable for my garden pathways.I bought the 3 ft width so I wouldn’t have to cut it for the most part. I planned 3 ft cart paths around my garden beds, and this is the base over a layer of cardboard. The cardboard does the heavy lifting as far as weed blocking goes; I don’t know that this fabric alone would be great for that application, as I could just see stubborn crabgrass growing through this stuff. But with the cardboard to act as a solid light blocking layer that will eventually break down, and this as the water permeable membrane keeping my pea gravel from settling into the clay over time, weeds should be well controlled. I am using geo-grid type cells on top, and will fill those with the gravel, so that I never need to redo it. The cells control the gravel from the sides, and the fabric from the bottom, so there shouldn’t be net migration or loss of gravel even with heavy anticipated use. It is a lot easier to run a soil-filled cart over a stabilized grid path than a gravel path, too…Anyway, working well so far for my purpose, easy to lay down and secure with fabric spikes, easy to unroll and position because of the weight of the roll, even in a windy area. I’d buy this again, but I doubt I will need to for this project, as I ordered plenty.

I've used a few different kinds of weed barrier and this is by far the best. Don't waste your time and money on anything from your local home improvement store. This is heavy duty fabric that will definitely stop weeds from coming through. I have it installed in all my landscaping and garden beds. After 3 years since my first use, no weeds whatsoever and looks brand new. Water penetration has not been a problem for me.

This product is nice and thick and I was worried that it would not let water through as it almost looks like a pool cover after I installed it in my vegetable garden . My fears were soon put to rest as we had a heavy rain that night and when I looked at the garden at 7:30 am the next morning there was very minor puddling which I was very Happy about . I am very confident that weeds will not come through this product as it did with the much thinner products from the garden centers sometimes do . I still gave this product five stars even though i found two areas in the product that had patches in them that quality control at the plant must have put there . That was my original review and this is my update . My vegetable garden is now in its third season and product is holding up great . So happy with this product !!!
