I'm always a bit suspicious of imported tool, but these clippers are a pretty nice item.First off, they're made from a hard stainless steel alloy - one that can withstand snipping hard and brittle materials. This is quite unlike many snippers intended for soft copper, whose jaws are not intended to withstand very brittle material cutting, and are optimized for long life cutting copper.That is what makes these nippers perfect for coral fragment cutting. It also makes them handy for a whole range of specialty nipping.These nippers come in a nice case, and are a good professional looking tool.. They'll do well for people who need to make precise cuts in coral or any brittle material. Personally, I keep them set aside on my bench for that kind of brittle/hard nipper work, reserving my regular nippers now for routine copper wire cutting, and keeping these specialty nippers for the odd stuff. Circuit board nipping, vulcanized rubber board shaping, cutting through thin steel stampings like turrets and solder posts, and so forth.It is nice to have a quality dedicated set of nippers for just those functions. It extends the life of your other nippers because you don't give in to using nippers intended only for copper on harder materials.These are easy to handle and feel nice in the hand. The external spring makes them almost look and feel like medical grade nippers, and they would undoubtedly work well as heavy duty toenail trimmers for anyone with a steady hand and nerves of steel. They are sharp.For me, five stars, and a good addition to my bench. These are certainly an excellent tool for nipping coral frags for anyone doing aquarium decoration work, as well as for a plethora of other typical and unusual nipper work.Pros: Stainless steel - very hard cutting surfaces. nice storage case. external style spring is sure and certain.Cons: None observed

These ergonomically designed clippers allow maximum control for precision cutting. They are sharp. The spring lever mechanism works perfectly and makes cleaning and storage a breeze. I used these to trim my husband's toe-claws aka toenails. Nothing else we've tried has worked as well as these do. He liked them so much, we ordered a 2nd pair for the household toolbox. Highly recommend.

Like most reviewers here, I was looking for a tool that would usefully serve in craft/hobby/light electrical and, in my case, guitar string changing jobs. This MEDSPO Professional Heavy Duty Cutting Tool works admirably for these use cases.It is an odd marketing gambit that highlights a tool so versatile by emphasizing it for coral cultivation. One assumes this refers to acquariumnistas, since not many people ply the waters of the Great Barrier Reef in their spare time. I will add my nod of approval for this cutting tool as being a well made, precise cutting edge implement. I have used it twice on guitar chores (cutting strings to change, and trimming a Bakelite compensated nut) and I'm 100% happy with the results. The Bakelite cut was especially detailed and the MEDSPO Professional Heavy Duty Cutting Tool performed like a champ, with a clean cut that required no further finishing.Nice weight, feels good in your hand and comes with both a snip protector and a nice case, if you want to keep something this useful buttoned up; I prefer leaving it out and handy. This is a really nice find for all those odd jobs that require light cutting safely and accurately.PLEASE NOTE: The manufacturer markets this for a specific purpose (coral care) and nowhere does the advertising copy suggest it is appropriate for the other uses mentioned above, and in other reviews. You do so at your own risk, so be careful to match this tool to an appropriate project, based on your own careful judgement.
