I’ve been told you should never fish with a hook you are unable to cut…in case it ends up in your flesh. I think of this like an add on to a first aid kit. I hope I never need it but I’ll be happy to have it if I ever do need it.

If you're anything like me and my family, you've gotten one too many fish hooks sunk into your flesh. These things are a life saver. They are basically mini bolt cutters and will cut through a fish hook like butter. Would definitely recommend.

I've saved a few bass from a gut hook. This thing cuts a hook effortlessly and with the compact size, you can fit it in a large mouth bass easily. Cut the hook in half and pull both ends out. Also adds peace of mind having these in the boat in case of a self hook.

This worked ok for a bit, but then started to get out of alignment after some use. I would recommend paying a little more for the Knipex.

This cutter works incredible! I have had to use them a few times to remove some hooks and they worked like a charm. Great size too!

Had an outing fishing where someone got a treble hook from a trolling lure got stuck in someone's hand and conventional cutters could not cut off the barb. Felt that I needed to have something like these onboard it case it happens again. I believe these would cut thru the hardest of hooks.
