I imagined this would be great for getting into pipes (such as sinks or yard irrigation) to clear out debris. I've seen similar tools that you can crank to twist and either grab or break up stuff in the pipe. As others have mentioned, there no real leverage or mechanism here to twist so the handle is just to kind of hold the end. Plus, the tip is small enough that it doesn't really do an effective job of grabbing or disrupting much without some manual tweaks. I guess it might be better than nothing and does give you a way to reach down into your pipes, which could be helpful. With a few modifications to the tip, it's slightly more useful. Overall, this is a cheap basic tool and you're probably better off getting something nicer.

I might have a weird shower.... But this didn't work. I thought my other one was too big, the snake drain from Ryobi. It even this.smaller one wouldn't enter the pipe. Had to o call plumber. But this one is small. It won't force anywhere to break things up though so I'm not convinced of this item being effective...

I don't have any complaints I mean it's simple and easy to use. And for the money it's worth it.

Had to bend and modify the "business end" of this tool a few times, but it saved us from a repair esitmated at $300! Grass and loose root clogging... Took a few dozen "pulls"... but managed to clear the entire segment of 3/4 inch pvc underground... When that BIG wad got hooked, we knew we made the right decision here.

Tried to snake out the blockage in our kitchen sink with this. The coil at the end is too tight to catch anything, and the metal is so cheap that it kinked at the end, when it hit the blockage. The “handle” at the other end has no leverage to turn the cable, so when you try to turn it, the cable just twists around itself. Worthless junk; do not buy.
