It checked ok with a voltmeter and it comes with heat sink compound. I needed a spare for my Ford 302 roller motor with the custom distributor that has chevy HEI on a ford distributor. A spare can save the day when the module quits (they only quit when you're far from home or don't have a spare). I don't know any way to actually test the module except they work or don't, The voltmeter test is only if they're shorted out or open.

I bought and installed this on a project I've been working on for a couple years. I finally got to the point of starting the engine and it wouldn't start. I checked and rechecked everything. I finally went to the local green auto parts store and bought a Standard lx301 for $40.00 thinking i just wasted my money. To my surprise, the engine fired right up. So, the proform unit was the problem all along. Luckily, my multiple fail start attempts with the proform module didn't have an adverse affect on my cam breaking in.

converted my ford to this thing to get rid of the stock box using the stock ford dizzy. now she runs like a 351 HO should run... traction on the 76 shorty 2 wheel drive is poor even with a 4.10 locker in it... lol. lets see how long it stays good before i give 5 stars.

I put module in and it was cold snowing hard when I was done I went to start it and it fired right up !!!

Work vvvgood ran the gm icm then AutoZone icm this one made a big difference and i been doing this for 40 years now
