About this item

 •
ProMark JW2 mallets feature a round synthetic core with brass inserts and a layer of latex wrapped in synthetic yarn. The JW2 provides medium-soft articulation and full tone. Finished birch handles have an ultra-smooth finish with a silky texture that feels similar to rattan but without the level of flexibility.

Designed by the internationally known and in-demand front ensemble technician, Jim Wunderlich, this nine mallet series with System Blue should not be considered for marching alone. While they have durable components for outdoor environments, the lush tone of these mallets is an appropriate and tasteful choice for indoor concert or marching settings.

For over 50 years, ProMark has been one of the world’s leading manufacturers of drumsticks, mallets, and percussion accessories. It gives out a really nice sound quality when I play it on my marimba. It gives a very rich tone, and it can handle most of my mistakes such as accidentally tapping away from the keys. The string is very strong. It has not break and loosen after wear and weathered.

I would describe these more as a medium-hard, but they're the ideal solo mallets. They articulate well, but also have the ability to roll and play at quieter because of the fuzzy exterior. Fairly durable as well. These are perfect for a solo player or in an indoor ensemble. Wouldn't recommend for marching activities though, except maybe on a low-end of a marimba.
