Release strap broke on first pull - small ball fell off. Easy enough to rerig a proper release line and otherwise seems like a solid shackle. Its a third of the price of a similar Wichard and achieves the same goals for my needs.

Like the other reviews, I broke the string on one of the first few uses. I'd also say the string was a little short. I replaced it with 8 strand nylon, drilled a hole in the rubber ball that came with it, and rerigged it up. Works great. I really like this release action versus ones that have a sheath or pin as there's less area to get icy or gunky making it stick or not lock when closed..

Bought this on a whim as a back-up trigger for my Big Shot throwline launcher. The Big Shot Trigger has a very thin section of metal in the safety feature. If you don't get the safety fully lifted before pulling the trigger, the metal bends like butter. That needs to be a heavier piece of metal or stronger metal. But this Quick Release Trigger is Good and Beefy. I can't imagine it ever bending or breaking. I was really surprised to unbox this and find it to be heavy, solid, and the chrome plating feels thick and smooth as glass. The mechanism literally Pops open when you pull the trigger cord.

The pull-cord snapped on the first use. Tried using this to drop a 200 lbs. dummy. Replaced the cord with something stronger, but still could not get it to release.
