I love the four chamber design; it would be very convenient to remove and transport the base by vehicle if ever a need be. Also the wheels are sturdy and its relatively easy to move the base around.

I bought this when I bought the Purple Leaf 10x13’ cantilever umbrella. I wanted something sturdy and yet easy to move. I read a lot of reviews and decided this was the one. I bought 5 bags of sand and filled the four containers with the sand and then topped it off with water. I let the water go in slowly and then I would move the sand around to fill in any holes. Then I would add a little more sand until the sand and water were at the top. After that, the cover goes on top and that’s it. The crank was a little stiff at the beginning but it loosened up and is easy to turn now. The umbrella is installed now and the base is proving to be worth its weight.

I bought a large (10x12) cantilevered umbrella from Purple Leaf. I was concerned that at some point I might need to move the base (maybe to clean the pavers?) and the stationary base once filled with sand and water would weight 300+ lbs. This wheeled base cost more but it has a better construction theory - four pods to fill vs. two so much more workable and the fill apertures are much larger to make it less difficult to get sand in). But primarily it can be moved. Once you crank the wheels down, it moves with very little effort even with the umbrella extended. I liked the set up so much I bought another just like it (umbrella and base) so I can cover more of my pool and adjacent area. The Purple Leaf customer service was excellent - expedited shipment (overnight) and responded with answers to any concerns I had. I highly recommend both the products and the customer service.

These bases are amazing. The new style with the crank adjusters to lift and roll the base is fantastic. You can crank them up, roll them around and then crank them back down in the new location.

This the best moveable stand for a cantilevered umbrella on the market. Simple to assemble, easily moved to different locations with crank-down retractable wheels. A little pricey, but it works well. Matched it with 9ft X 9ft umbrella over a 7ft square custom sun bed.

There are several bases for the Purple Leaf cantilever umbrella but I got this this one because it has the ability to raise it onto the integrated wheels and move it around. It has 4 plastic sand chambers (you can also use water but I chose just sand due to concerns about freezing etc). The metal frame is pretty solid, but the FEDEX delivery guy basically tossed this onto my porch which bent part of the frame. I contacted customer support and they were helpful; my only advice on getting this is to try to intercept the shipper as it arrives as the packaging is not as durable as I would have hoped. I cannot speak to long term durability but the unit is covered by a nice thick plastic cover so that should protect the metal parts. Overall I am glad I got this instead of one of the cheaper ones that does not allow for easy moving. One thought: take some time to really measure your space (on the ground at up at actual umbrella height) because you may find you need a smaller umbrella than you think when you consider things like the rotation and up/down function of the umbrella. Also if you have a smaller space or it is constrained by things like a fence or BBQ you may need to upsize or downsize your umbrella. The base is approx. 34" x 34" wide, so it takes up some space- I made a small bench to cover 1/2 of the base which gives me some space back in my yard.

Assembly was very straight forward. Because we live near the mouth of the Columbia Gorge (famously windy), I needed a very sturdy base - not just when it's open but also when closed. So I filled it with the maximum weight (sand and water), and it definitely does the job. I also hoped to be able to move it depending on the time of day (and direction of the sun), however, with the full weight in it, there is no way on God's green earth I can move it (5'6", 135 lb woman). My humongous 6.5 foot, 280 lb son has no problem moving it and fortunately lives near by, but not that handy. I started with a 3 star rating, but after using it a while, I really appreciate how stable it is, and Purple Leaf was very responsive and suggested taking some of the sand out and placing a couple movable sandbags on top instead, so we'll do that. Also, just FYI, my husband was very taken aback by the size. I was not; it needs to be big to be that stable.

100 STARS ZYBASE 8 I bought for my Purple Leaf 9x11 umbrella and it was the best decision I made. The wheels will retract down to be able to move this beautiful umbrella to any spot around my pool the I retract the wheels to stabilize it and let me tell you she is stable and does not move. You can either put sand r water in the 4 reservoir for the perfect weight. Was very easy to do. The umbrella does take two people to pick up and put in the base but me and my friend were able to accomplish it being small in size. It also has a different levels for the umbrella to move up r down and then another crank to rotate the umbrella. So love this very well constructed equipment. So Purple Leaf thanks for making my life easy at the pool and comfortable with no worries.
