Unfortunately, this product simply did not work. The case was beautiful, the design separated the mounting holes from the electronics on the inside, so even if water entered through the mounting holes it would not reach the electronics. Unfortunately, there could not have been any quality control during manufacturing because part of the sealing strip had never been inserted in the groove of the case. This was easily rectified but it indicated poor assembly quality.The terminal strip for the four wire connections, two from the power source and two to the motor, was sturdy and well marked. Unfortunately, after the wires were passed through the case they misaligned with the terminal strip and were forced to pass over the sharp edge of the electronic’s chassis. Over time, the sharp edge could easily have cut through the wire insulation. I added an insulating strip over the sharp edge to protect the wires.Turned on the unit and nothing happened. The motor did not run, the l.e.d. panel did not light. Tried the speed control in every position and the forward a reverse in both positions; nothing. I checked and found full battery voltage was being delivered to the terminal strip but before I could check for output voltage to the motor, there was bang and sparks from under the electronics chassis. At this point, I just got it off my boat for safety sake. I really can’t recommend this product but I did like the well designed case.The picture shows the seal was never installed in the groove of the case.

Nothing to dislike. Easy to follow instructions. Worked 100% as it should on first try. At 87 years old I'm going to love total trolling speed control for my 10' Kayak. If extended battery time proves out, this is a winner. Only thing massing is a battery monitor. Gee! Wounder where I could get one of those?
