My wife has a long history of having cold feet while skiing, and we've tried many things to help correct that, with varying degrees of success. For many years, she relied upon Hotronic heaters in her boots, which helped, but didn't fully solve the issues. In the last couple of seasons, we've tried heated socks, which were better. But when we added these boot covers (while still wearing the heated socks), she finally found her solution. This was the first season where her feet never felt cold at all. So she loves them, even though they are a little bit of a pain to put on, and after two weeks of skiing, they are showing some troubling signs of wear on the straps from walking in them. We hope that they will last for more than a couple of seasons, because they definitely helped.

I bought these to help my feet stay warmer for snowshoeing. They didn't go over the front of my shoe, but rather sat on top. Snow pushed and packed in tight under them, on top of my boot instead of keeping snow out. Kinda the opposite of what I was going for.

These work to add a touch more insulation than ski boots offer on their own, however when skiing in powder, they trap snow in the toe area pretty easily regardless of how tight/loose you strap them on. When snow gets trapped between the cover and the boot, it actually makes your toes significantly colder than not wearing the covers at all. Overall, I'd say they're just alright for a small bit of extra warmth on low powder days and groomers.

I have very small feet and I use junior ski racing boots (size 20.5). For people who ski, junior racing boots are quite thin and not warm at all. I'm surprised how kids survive skiing in winter without boot gloves or using heated batteries. I had to use both when it's really cold. The boot gloves I had last year are wearing out and they are actually too big for my boots. I had to roll the front cover inward to avoid hitting the bindings. I'm glad I bought this pair. They fit. I think they would fit boot size bigger than mine better (like size 21 or 22). I'm glad they make small size which can really benefit kids and small adults.I can't comment on performance or durability yet as it's not winter time. But these are similar material to my old boot gloves. For people never used these, my experience is they definitely can keep your boots warmer than without them, esp on windy and cold conditions. They make big difference. However, it may cause your feet sweat. But there aren't many ways to keep your feet warm. Using heated batteries may be a better choice. However, they are a lot more expensive. Another thing is the first part to wear out is the underfoot part. So getting a cat track can protect both your boots and these boot gloves. I know these very well as I'm a ski instructor.
