Very poor operating the pin dosent move far enough Back when u try to release it from hood pin and jams when u push it back, also unlocking and opening the latch u need a screw driver to pry up.

Don’t bother waisting your money the latches don’t even open all the way. Can’t even get the pins in completely useless

the design is good but materials and workmanship horrid. Might be ok for a very light application but as a lock totally useless. I have rebuilt almost every piece with epoxy and different screws etc. Sort of working now but i wont hold my breath.

Absolute garbage, cheap plastic. key turns 360° and does nothing. No instructions, can't even see how to install this as the key does not pull the pin back to open

parts failed and broke right after I installed them. I had to manually pull the pins back to close the hood.

After trying the key for about 2 minutes I got the lock opened. It's been over 24 hours and I still can't get it to lock. The opening handle is stuck in the open position. I tried another one same issue. I am returning this item today.

For the price, they are good. These are primarily plastic. I purchased and installed them as a visual deterrent for anyone thinking of reaching into my convertible to get under the hood. They do look good installed and do lock, but are not very sturdy. As mentioned, its primarily plastic. A bit of silicone lube or white lithium grease helps alot with the locking mechanism. There is also a spring that retracts the locking rod. It also helps to stretch this spring a bit so it can help retract the rod a bit more to clear the locking post. Be prepared to cut 2 large holes into your hood. These are flush mounted. As another reviewer suggested, if you have +4x the money to buy a name brand, all metai version, go for it. If not, and security is less of a concern these are fine just to hold your hood in place.

I just received my package, open it up and the packaging was already busted, parts everywhere, no big deal. Then I started looking at the latches, opened one up and the pin inside doesnt fully open, okay not the biggest deal, then I go to open the other… opened it up and the latch snapped, didnt even have the product for 5 minutes.. This is probably the worst quality ive ever seen. The plastic is EXTREMELY brittle. If you want a good quality product, this is not the one. The only good thing i found with the product is that it came with lock nuts. Everything else can go straight to the garbage where it come from..

cheap hood Latches confusing to work at first no instructions but they work again you pay for what you get if you have the extra money go with namebrand aerocatch
