This worked, but is cheap plastic and does not latch (I used tape to hold it closed). When the ac reached 'full', I removed the dispensing valve and the freon started spraying out and I could not reattach it under the pressure. All I could do it hold it toward the ground and empty an entire can into the atmosphere. So, once you attach the dispensing valve to the tap valve, don't remove it.--Update-- seller contacted me and made good on this purchase. Great customer service.

I’ve always liked the side can taps, works great and has the plastic extension for the slim cans.

I had the other style tap with gauge setup. After one use, the tap started to cause issues. First, wouldn't allow freon to flow out of can, then started to leak out of the T. After wasting two cans, thinking there was another problem, I wasn't going to waste a third can since I had the old tap attached to the can. I ordered this clamp tap. Not only did it save the one can, but I was able to connect this style to my traditional air condition gauges. I had my doubts because of the odd bad review, but it is much better then the other style. Hope this helps.

I ordered this with doubts bc of some negative reviews, not being able to tell from the listing if it was made from the right material. Plastic can taps are designed to flex to lock, and this works great. No problem recharging my car after replacing the condenser and evacuating the system. I used R134 from Wally World, so this should apply anywhere in the US.

Per usual the Government mandates new rules to screw things up that they know nothing about. "auto-sealing" R134a can valves. On a refrigerant that THEY mandated to replace, admittedly, a harmful R-12. By-pass the valve completely with this and save the money buying different adapters every 3 years. Works great and is simple-simon to rig up for any single charge size can. Yes even R-12 for my antiques. Durability is only issue I question as it seems flimsy but has lasted well so far.
