I was disappointed when my escort passport 9500ix that I’ve had for years (and has saved me too many times to count) stopped beeping its alerts. Removed 3 screws and easily swapped in this new speaker. No soldering required. Plugged it right in and this brought it back to life. This saved me from having to buy a new $500+ detector.

Installed into my redline ex in less than 5 minutes. Seamless fit! It actually took me longer to find my precision screwdriver set! :) the speaker now works great, sounds like new. Well worth the investment into the escort line.

A buddy of mine had given me his Escort Passport X70 because the sound no longer worked on it. After doing some research I found out that the speaker on these detectors can eventually go out. I stumbled upon this speaker here on Amazon and did the replacement myself and now the sound is working again! This speaker sounds the exact same as the OEM one that comes with the radar detector. Hoping it lasts as long as the stock one did. So far so good!

Swapped out the speaker in my escort passport 9500xi was a perfect fit. Just had to solder the two wires on.

It’s the perfect replacement for the ix9500 radar detector. I installed it in less than 15 minutes and works as well as it did when it was brand new.

I want a replacement speaker for an Escort 9500xi. My 9500xi has a 32 ohm speaker in it. I did not know that until I dissembled the radar detector to replace the speaker. I installed the 8 ohm speaker anyway to verify that the only problem with my radar detector was the speaker and not the amplifier, and the new speaker verified that because the new speaker works...at least for a while. The 8 ohm speaker will likely overload the Escort amplifier (that's why Escort installed a 32 ohm speaker). I will continue looking for a 32 ohm speaker, hopefully with wires attached. Soldering the wires onto the speaker was a pain, as another reviewer mentioned. The speaker does not tolerate heat from the soldering pencil very well. It is definitely worth the money to verify that the only problem is the speaker. The supplier provided the speaker promptly via USPS. In hind site, I should have dissembled the radar detector to check speaker impedance prior to ordering the replacement speaker. It might very well be the correct replacement for the other detectors listed.

I replaced the radar detector speaker and had to solder the wires on, so it’s fairly easy to replace .
