I used to enjoy listening to truckers yak and just play around with CB radios, so when I had the opportunity to get this one, I figured I'd give it a shot! It's pretty well built, with an aluminum chassis and large, easy to read LCD display on the front. The knobs feel great to use and overall, the build quality is quite good. I didn't realize it didn't come with an antenna, but I was able to attach a small (and weak) one I had laying around for testing purposes. It also doesn't come with an AC plug; it seems like it's meant to be wired into a vehicle, but I was able to power it off one of my V-Mount camera batteries and it actually worked surprisingly well. Reception seemed pretty good with my dinky little antenna and I enjoy messing around with it in the evenings, but I do plan on installing it in our RV this spring and don't see any reason why it won't work well. It comes with a substantial user manual that has clear instructions for mounting, power hookup and general operation and I appreciate that they included the printed manual and didn't direct me to an online PDF file. I think it's an awesome value for how well built the unit is along with how easy it is to operate and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

I own quite a few Radioddity and Raddy devices from solar tables to indoor/outdoor thermometers. This is my first CB radio. I had a choice between the CB-606 and the CB-606 Pro. Although I liked the blue light on the original, I settled on the amber light pro version because it had a couple of upgrades. I also ordered a cheap antenna to go along with this. I wanted something compact that wouldn't take up much space in my vehicle. I am very handy with low voltage electronics, but I did watch a few youtube videos before getting started. I also had my cousin help me out because he's been using these for a long time. My cousin works with me, and he uses a CB radio. He always calls me to tell me about stuff up ahead and different routes to take. We commute over an hour a day back and forth to work. I also drive back and forth between Massachusetts and Georgia quite a bit to visit friends and family. I often encounter accidents, raod work, and other traffic jams. This is a pretty neat little device. Now I can hear stuff myself. I can also communicate with my cousin on our commutes. He sounds clear and says I sound clear. His setup is different than mine and sometimes picks up stuff that I don't even when we are close to each other. His range is much better than mine. He said I need to upgrade my cheap antenna to something better and tune it with his tester. I don't know much about these, but my cousin said this is a great radio for someone like me. I used to have a PA and electric horn in my car. I was able to connect this to my old PA horn speaker setup. Everything seems to work as it should. Now, all the guys at work want a CB radio after hearing my cousin and I talk about them. Most of us commute from the same area. We don't ride together because we finish at all different times, so this will be a fun way for use to all communicate. I will come back and update this review with pics and a video once I get the new antenna and tune it so I can show its maximum potential. I'm already happy with it, so I'm assuming it will only be better when I get a new antenna setup and tuned.

This compact CB radio is intended to be installed as a base unit or mobile. It supports the expected basic features, including PA, and has a few others too. It has a very easy-to-use interface with a large, dimmable 2.2" display. While It may take a few moments to get used to the menu, it's fairly easy to navigate with just a little practiceNotable bits:* Easy to use* Better noise reduction options than the standard (non-Pro) model* The speaker mic works very well and has good-quality sound both in transmission and reception* There's a power level option in the menu that appears to allow more power than typically allocated to a CB unit* The back of the unit features a heatsink due to the upgraded power output of the Pro modelI connected it at home to test it, having not touched a CB radio in decades (except for the non-pro model which I tested at the same time). I was surprised that even in a suburban area I picked up traffic on a couple of channels, and was able to communicate and get confirmation that transmission was clear and clean.Using the high power option I was able to push transmissions a bit and those that were further out appeared to get a better signal, but most of them were on the move, so it's tough to be certain of improvement. I did note that the heatsink got warm in this mode, indicating that I was indeed pushing more power. At this price point, this is a good radio. If you're just looking for something to install in your rig for those times when it's nice to have for simple communications or emergencies, this will do the trick without breaking the bank. This Pro version has a few improvements including a larger speaker mic than the standard model, more power output, and a heatsink that should improve longevity in high-power mode.

I know literally nothing about CBs except my father had one in the car when I was younger. Really I wanted this mostly for just listening in and maybe for emergencies. This seems well made and is pretty compact. I think the basic unit would've probably been a better fit for my needs, but was able to get this as a review sample and it definitely seems to be worth the asking price.

Great little raido, receives really good. And transmittes well too. Would definitely buy again. We'll worth the money. Really like the small size, easy to install.

When I ordered this radio, it was advertised as portable, and it’s clearly not. That has been removed from the listing but unfortunately, that’s the reason I ordered it.Overall, this is a nice standard CB radio. It works well, the reception is crisp and clear. It needs to be installed in a vehicle with a good antenna to operate.
