Although it doesn't really work - it looks cute on my deck hanging off my awning

These is a double-whammy bonus to these rain chains. Not only functional to help "ease" the damage that water pouring from gutters can cause, but they add an attractive visual element with creating a waterfall effect that gutter spouts don't.These are well-made, I expect to see a few rust spots over the seasons but, that's pretty typical of this type of material.I really like the added metal bird weight that helps hold the rain chain steady and from being blown about in a breeze.

I've always been fascinated by the way water falls through rain chains creating a visual to go along with the drip-drip of a rainstorm. It's such a simple addition to your rain gutters. I am specific of where I put the rain chains, as I want to see it during the rainstorms. Also, I want it to fall into a rock pile or hardscape. The rain chain is a nice cup arrangement where there are stamped out little birds with a small bottom bird weight. The finish is nice color and complements the gurgling of the water as it cascades over the cups. I fashioned a T-bar for the top as the S hook is tenuous in my gutter. The construction appears durable for my winters. We shall see. Bring on the rain.

Wanted to replace a traditional downspout that made very loud dripping sounds with light rain. I had to make a custom little bracket for the hook on the chain to attach to but I can't fault the item for that (especially at this price point.) During a recent rain storm, the chain worked perfectly and was nearly silent.Very happy with the purchase and the wife loves the little bird weight at the bottom. If there was one thing that could be improved, it would be the size of the holes in each little funnel and the overall size of each funnel. If the rain was any harder than when I observed, the rain water would have been overflowing the sides of the funnels and not flowing down the center chain. But definitely not a deal breaker and would not deter me from buying again for other downspouts on my property.

This rain chain is well constructed but unfortunately I have not yet been able to use it since there has been no rain yet. It was a mission to get the pots apart and the chains untangled. The coating did not get scratched while I was detangling. The bird cut outs in the metal pots are a nice touch as is the weighted bird on the end is as well.

We live in a heavily treed area, so our gutters and downspouts are constantly getting clogged with needles, cones and leaves. But why spend thousands to buy gutter covers (?) when we can instead get beautiful rain chains, which tend to help prevent clogging.Of all of our five different rain chains, these are my favorite because they are so attractive, while not sacrificing function. The natural design resembling a morning glory or calla lily blossom is much prettier than the various boxy, diamond, can and cone shapes we have. This particular design is well made, the chain links are fused, and there is a fine level of detail. The hangers that suspend the blossom 'cups' are made of aluminum, so the cups can be removed and re-spaced to be closer or further apart, if you want.I find that the chain designs that have an actual chain running the full length of the rain chain work better at channeling and containing the rainwater. Because this design has the chain running through the center all the way down, there is less splashing. Also because the design is curved and funnel shaped there are no sharp abrupt angles that tend to send water spurs flying off from the rain chain. The way this design works is by most of the water traveling over the links in the chain to the ground. When the rain gets a bit heavier, the links themselves will fill with water, and when the link can no longer hold the water, the water will drop to the next link. Depending on the amount of rain falling, this process will get faster and faster. When the links can no longer manage the water flow, then the flower 'cups' will begin simultaneously filling up and making drops of water into the cup below. So there can actually be a visible and audible rhythm to the entire process. When the cups begin to fill faster than they lose water, then they will overflow over their sides and that water will flush down into the cup below, and it can get a bit more splashy and messy. But this design seems to minimize that aspect when compared with the designs of our other rain chains.

This MNRYLKB 8.5FT Rain Chain, Rain Chains for Gutters is a nice funnel cup shaped rain chain that catches and delivers the water. The cups are pretty small so can overfill. I think all rain chains should be made of copper since they last and have a nice patina. This one is not, but still a nice design with a little bird at the end for weight.
