VERY IMPORTANT: A gentleman reviewed this product on 2016 and said that the "S" and the "I" were on TOP of the terminals (he offered this to explain the orientation of installation). I almost took this advice, but instead dug a little deeper. What I found for MY Mercury 90HP Outboard Motor is that the smaller yellow wire with a red strip goes to the "S" terminal, but came in on the LEFT side, so for me, I had to install it with the letters BELOW the terminals. Point being, you need to understand your wiring first.

It had a dead short in it and when the starter was engaged it would not disengage and I had to disconnect the battery terminals to turn it off. The ignition switch would not turn it off.
