Great placement lock mechanism

This replacement liftgate handle and latch mechanism fit and operate perfectly. Repair shops wanted $500-$650 to do the replacement. It is not a simple task. If you are unable to open the liftgate, you will have to access from the inside by crawling into the back of your vehicle. There are some great videos on how to do the job. I watched them twice before starting and then went through it as I started the process. It took me about 3 hours to do the job for my first time doing this. No special tools were needed, just a little patience with reaching into some tight places in the liftgate. You can do this! The handle will feel tight to operate when you install and try it the first time. 100% normal and to be expected. Also, the first few times of closing it, you may have to give it a little extra force to close. The locking mechanism works exactly as it should also. If you try this and have any questions, go ahead and post them here. I did take a few pictures during the project I can share if needed but the videos on YouTube are really good.

Went in easy, works better than the old one, that we took out. Perfect fit. Is a lot smoother to open than old one that broke. Lol

Easy to install. Came with new cord which seemed to be if good quality. Purchased a cheaper one first which did not work and the cord separated from the metal end housing. Change handle at same time even if you think yours is still ok.

I received the actuator and it fit perfectly but i didn't received the cable, the package was damaged with a hole at the bottom and the cable was missing. I wanted to replace everything new. The first order apparently was lost and i had to cancel and reordered it again then i got it damaged and missing the cable.

Pay attention to the one-star reviews -- this is a piece of junk that came apart upon install. Huge waste of time and money. Appears to have been *glued* together instead of welded. Run away from this part -- fast!
