About this item

  • This set includes the rear trail arm repair pieces and the center skid plate repair pieces.Rear and middle driver and passenger side repair pieces for Jeep Wrangler years 1997-2002.You will receive 2 packages.
  • About the Trail Arm: On your original frame there is a factory drilled access hole, which allows debris and water to enter and create rust over time.Our design includes a drain hole to prevent this from happening again. The trail arm pieces will fix the areas in front of the rear axles where rot typically occurs. Piece includes the lower control arm and body mounts. New control arm bolts included. Each piece measures approximately 20" end to end.
  • About the Skid Plate: The skid plate pieces are full length repair pieces that completely repair the areas in front of and behind the skid plates. These pieces gets attached to the frame and the transfer case and transmission gets bolted to them. Hardware is included. Each piece measures approximately 43 1/2" end to end. Constructed of 10 gauge rolled high carbon steel which is thicker than your existing frame.
  • What is Needed：These are weld on pieces. Moderate welding skills required. For the trail arm piece you will need to remove the bottom 2/3 of the frame rail, grind smooth, slide the piece over the remaining upper 1/3, then weld. For the skid plate piece you will need to cut out the lower 2/3 of your frame and sandwich the repair piece over the remaining upper 1/3. Align bolt holes then weld around the perimeter.

After a lot of research I went with this kit. Everything fit perfect and the quality was very good. Word of advice, do the center sections first before you do the back. The back half is designed to slide over the first half. I would absolutely recommend this kit to anyone.

The full center skid plate sections and the trail arms fit great. They are all welded decently. The center pieces come with new bolts but you have to reuse your old bolts for the rear trail control arms, no biggie. These saved my 97 TJ.

Are they as nice as the $800 set up sold by a well known company, no, but they are more than adequate and when you consider the price/value ratio they deserve a 5 star rating. Be aware, these do take a little extra work to get the fitment right and you need some decent welding skills to get these done, a lot of time and effort to be sure.

Seems very strong, worked well. 3 out of 4 pieces came first making me think I was missing one but then the last one came a few days later which was a little strange but the product worked good overall!
