Grabbed the this Crimping Tool Kit recently to tackle some network cable projects for my GC brother and his new home, and for $43.99, it’s been a pretty handy setup. This all-in-one kit comes with a crimper, a rechargeable cable tester, and a bunch of extras like connectors and boots, all weighing in at just 0.8 kilograms. It’s perfect for working with Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, and even Cat7 cables, which is great whether you’re a pro or just starting out like me.The pass-through crimping is a game-changer—it makes terminating cables a breeze, and the tool handles RJ45, RJ12, and RJ11 connectors like a champ. The included tester is a nice bonus; it checks for wiring issues and even has a QC mode to spot crimping mistakes fast, which saved me some headaches. The rechargeable battery lasts about 10 hours, and the built-in LED light helps when I’m working in dim spots—super practical. Plus, it supports PoE testing, which is clutch if you’re dealing with powered devices. That said, I’m not sure about the crimping dies—hope they hold up if they wear out, but I couldn’t tell if they’re replaceable (might need to dig deeper). It’s also solid for shielded cables, which is a plus for trickier jobs. For the price, it’s a steal if you’re into DIY networking or need a reliable tool for the office. I’m no expert, but this kit’s made me feel confident tackling cable messes—definitely worth it for beginners or pros alike!

i always have a little difficulty wiring up Ethernet cables. i have done long cable drops only to find out i have accidentally swapped wires around. instead of spending hours plugging and unplugging cables to find which one is bad, all you need to do is use this tester. within seconds you can not only identify the bad cable, but find out why it is bad.usually it was because i didn't push the cable far enough into the ethernet connector. that is where this kit shines. first the rj45 connectors are pass through. that means the wires actually go through the connector. that way, you can tell if it is wired properly. then the crimper easily crimps the connector, making sure you have a secure connection.this kit has made it much easier to make your own ethernet cables with virtually no issues

been using this to do alot of cable run in my house. this work well, and its very easy to use. the rj-45 tester does work fine so far. i do have a real, more expensive tester, and right now. both are giving me the same result.

Nice all inclusive CAT Kit for easy installs, the battery powered pin tester is MAGICAL, coming from having to always leave D Cell batteries in my road box, this is great. Charges fairly fast too.

I did not need this item, I ordered it through vine to compare it to my Klein pass through crimper. It works perfectly fine. For what you get, the price is decent. Not as high quality a feel as the Klein crimper, but then Klein is a bit more expensive. The Klein crimper is the same price as this kit, but you ONLY get the crimper with Klein, the Klein kit is double this price.Up to you to decide if you care more about a name brand. I'm telling you as a Klein fanboy, this crimper will do the job just fine. If you're a DIY'er or entry level networking tech, you won't be doing yourself a disservice by ordering this.

This review is for the tester without the crimping tool. I got this to complete some networking in the basement. I will probably make a bunch of custom length cables once the basement it finished.Pros:Good build quality.Rechargeable.USB C port for charging. The light is a nice bonus.Cons:None.This turned out to be essential for my work in the basement. The first head I crimped on, only had three of the lights turn on in the test. Then next one, all the lights turned on, but I could see that I had put them in in reverse order. This tester made it really easy to verify my work and start over. Without this, I would have probably had no idea what I had done wrong.Summary:This is a good network cable tester for the price. It helps me fix my mistakes. I'm pleased I got it.

This SHGMEET crimping tool for RJ45 pass-through connectors with the rechargeable network cable tester has been a game changer for me! It is an excellent tool for anyone just learning how to build RJ45 cables. An ongoing project for me has been building out our home network including some custom length Cat6 cables. I had tried a crimping tool sourced from a local supplier; but was often frustrated by wires getting out of order during the crimping process and not discovering the problem until later in the project. I wasted a lot of time, RJ45 connectors and uttering a lot of colorful metaphors. SHGMEET includes instructions in the kit and with several videos online I was able to make frustration free cables in no time. Like everything else, preparation is key. Setting up the ethernet cable with the eight wires in the right order is the hardest part. Once they are in order slide them into the pass through RJ45 connector and BAM!!! The crimping tool delivers a professional clean RJ45 connector. After both connectors are installed, simply plug them into the cable tester then watch with awe and wonder as the tester displays a perfect connection (lights sequencing 1 thru 8 in order). The kit included a fair number of pass-through RJ45 connectors; I have seen them called EZ-Pass connectors as well. This SHGMEET kit is awesome and has really helped me save a ton of time and frustration. The outstanding quality of the cables built with this kit has improved the network functionality, performance and reliability of our home network. I highly recommend this kit. Just the time and frustration saved by building a cable once instead of two or three times makes it worth the investment.

Times change and my old cat 5e crimpers won't do the new stuff. I didn't need to but I ran all new cat 7 in my house and needed to put ends on it all. Took me a few to figure it out but works great. It has a durable nice case. Well worth it to buy this if you do your own networking.
