Product Description

RECOIL

Recoil engineered the RED600.1 Class D mono-block subwoofer amplifier to be dominant in both power and reliability. The RED600.1D is 1-ohm stable and utilizes a wide array premium components that make it extremely powerful and reliable - such as its high speed MOSFET power supply and advanced PCB board layout. Conservatively rated at 600 watts RMS power at a 1-ohm load.

Furthermore, the oversized 4 gauge power and ground terminals found on the amplifier allow for maximum current flow. It is September 2024 and I've had this Recoil RED600.1 for a few weeks now. I was on a budget and bought bought it to replace an older amplifier that was going out. It was just under $90 plus any shipping or tax at the time. The amp arrived on time, but there was some minor damage to the product box inside the Amazon box. Thanks to the foam padding inside the amp was still in perfect condition. The amp came with some mounting screws for the amp and remote, bass remote, remote cable, hex wrenches for the wiring, and the appropriate ferrules for the wiring which for perfectly in my 4 gauge power and ground and 12 gauge speaker wires. The bass remote has a Power LED and a Clipping LED. After setting my crossover, subsonic and bass boost ( @45 hz, 0 DB in my case) I set the gain using an oscilloscope. I tested at multiple frequencies and the clip light would come on at the exact point the oscilloscope showed clipping. My only gripe about this about is the Power LED is very bright and annoying at night time, so I covered it with black tape. The remote itself is metal and seems well made. The adjustment is very linear so it's easy to turn the subwoofer down for podcasts, audio books, or anytime you just want less bass.I have mine hooked up to a high efficiency low watt 4 ohm single 12. It sounds great and it's perfect for my needs while barely getting warm at full tilt. I also know if I ever wanted more I could run it at a lower impedance and get more power from it.Overall I'm very happy with this amp. It's a great value, seems well built, the clip light is accurate and it sounds good. I'll edit this is something changes but as of now I recommend this as a budget amp in this power range.

Running this amp at 2ohm and getting over 500watts clean power, the amp barely gets warm.I can add a second sub and run at 1ohm if I want for around 200 extra watts and double the cone area. The remote bass controller is good quality and has a clipping indicator light to let you know when you're at the safe limits.Subsonic filter is useful for people running ported boxes and need a little infrasonic protection for the subwoofer.Price is incredible for an amp with this power and features.

It is a really great unit, but I needed something bigger. I returned and purchased the 1200.1. I love these Recoil amplifiers. They are loud and affordable, and they sound great. Actually, they produce more RMS power than what they claim

Using with a single 10" alpine 600w rms sub, gain control on amp is at about 75% and I usually keep the control knob in the car between 10% and 30% and it bumps HARD. Very consistent, no issues from the amp, isn't hard on my battery or alternator (running in an NB Miata so doesnt take much bass to sound great, but its also a very small battery and it hasnt had any issues with power draw either). Can't speak for larger systems, but running a single 10" dual voice it has no issues, and I doubt it'd have any problems running 2.

Used to power 2 JL 10w0v3-4 subs wired together at 2ohm and they sound great. Can't beat it for the price of this awesome little amp 👍🏻

Mannnn! I am super happy with the performance of this amp. I bought it only to run my subwoofer and let me tell you is more than enough RMS power to run my Kicker Comp R 12". This amp had my Kicker screaming super loud and hitting super hard. I had to turn the bass control knob down because I couldn't see out of my mirrors. I feel a lot of people are sleeping on Recoil, but I'm glad I bought mine. I also bought a 4-channel Recoil amp to run my mids and highs so this makes 2 Recoil amps for me and I couldn't be happier. My stereo system just went from 0 to 100 and people were so impressed they were asking me what was I running for amps. I'm convinced for the money you won't find a better performance amp than Recoil. I'm a believer!

Amp says it pushes 310w rms at 4ohmsMy MTX Jack Hammer 4 ohm 10” subwoofer handles 300w rms but clips a lot with this amp. Watched a you tube video with a guy dyno testing this amp and it comes up around 60w shy of its rated power. Also need the gain 3/4 to max. Turned the gain down to just hair over half and the clipping is less and sounds pretty good. Listened at a high volume for a couple of songs, one of which had heavy base and amp wasn’t raven warm, nice. For the price, this is a pretty good amp. Nice compact size too

Went from Rockford Fosgate R250X1 and one 10 inch kicker comp in a single 10 Skar Audio box to this Recoil RED600-1 with 2 Recoil 12 inch 4ohm dvc subs wired down to 1 ohm in a dual 12 Skar Audio box. Night and day difference. The old setup was ok but not great for a small buick regal car, but moving to a dodge grand caravan it was weak. Hittin harder then i was back in the late 90's in those old schoold 90's hatchbacks. I know thats a big upgrade from what i had even though recoil is still not established, but It hits specs and does what it says and there subs are just as nice and cheap. Best bang for your buck atm from what i can research. Get em while you can. 2 Recoil 6x9's in the doors and 2 Recoil 6.5 in the rear cause most 6x9's wont fit. Brands don't mean everything. I have a Sony DSX-GS900 head unit powering the mids and highs. 45 watts rms to them is the right amount for what i need. Those Sony head units are amazing with there built in amp. Used the Recoil bass blockers on the 6.5's and 6x9's and they do what they should. 1 inch 20 dollar Skar Audio tweeters in the dash with built in crossovers. It sounds great. Any other radios probally need an amp for mids and highs but those Sony's with built in amplifiers do the job for most average people. If your pro or go all out yeah you want an external amp for mids and highs. I'm rambling lol Recoil is legit. Thats all im saying.

I watched a few you tube reviews for this amp before purchasing it. While it lacks in efficiency, it makes up in power and very good audio quality. I have this powering a skar audio vd8d4 sub and am running the amp at 2 ohms. This overpowers the subwoofer by about 75 to 100 watts according to the rms ratings of the amp and sub. The Subwoofer pounds out the lows and takes the power like a champ. No burning smells from the sub and the amp runs luke warm even with sustained low bass below 40 hz. Now i thought, there isnt any way in the world this amp is delivering the power it claims it does so i performed a 40 hz tone test full tilt. I measured the amperage draw and voltage. Did the math, and wouldnt you know it, it was pushing out 640 watts. Subwoofer is rated 400 watts rms but takes the power like a champ. While this isnt a review of the sub, i must say this amplifier delievers with no signs of stopping. Definitely an amazing deal. If you're looking for a great budget minded monoblock, i definitely recommend this amplifier. I would say buy it before the price skyrockets, because amps like this do not stay budget friendly for long. This amp should be priced around $145 because it is very comparable to the pioneer gm-d8701. Only difference is about 50 watts of rated rms power and The recoil is just a tad less efficient with power draw translated to power output. Steal of an amp if you ask me. Oh yeah....and its 1ohm stable.
