There are no instruction as to what the button on the top does. There are no instructions as to what turning it all the way past 1 does. Both of these actions just seem to pause cooling for a short amount of time. Other than that, the thermostat just causes the freezer to be on all the time and hover around -20 degrees fahrenheit. 1 or 7, the results are the same...-20 with the compressor running non stop.

It's not the exact replacement (original was about 5times more, this one was nice and cheap) and I modified it just a little to make it work for my mini fridge, working great so far 🤞 hope it keeps working for years to come..

K50-P1125: This unit has a 47" long sensor tube: just what I needed to replace my temp control on a 15 year old WC Woods 18 cu ft upright freezer. The unit maintains the temp between zero and +15 degrees F. While not a duplicate of the original temp range, it is sufficient. Be aware, there is NO OFF position on this item: rotating the dial does not interrupt the power as many freezer temp controls offer.

I bought this to replace the broken thermostat in my 5cuft Beaumark chest freezer that seemingly is made of parts no longer available. Might work OK in a common refrigerator/freezer and on that basis I gave it 5 stars. The description is misleading however. This thermostat will not work in a dedicated freeze-only appliance such as a chest freezer. Tried one thermostat then sent it back because I thought it was defective so I tried another. I set to it's coldest setting and it ran until my freezer reached -26C then it shut off the compressor then the freezer warmed up to almost 0C then started all over again. Tried adjusting the range screw to no avail.
