If you want some control over snare sustain but not sacrificing it, this is the head you'll want. Add a light/thin strip dampening ring for a little extra shortening of sustain and it's perfect. The reverse dot doesn't cut into your playing/strikes at all. It gives a nice, warm punch with some ring but not an abundance of it.
