When I connected this to my 1.5hp 110vac, 12amp dust collector, it tripped the breaker in my shop. The dust collector has no problem running when plugged straight in to the outlet. I put my little outlet tester on the KTNNKG Remote, and found that the HOT and NEUTRAL are reversed. (see photo). This is a dangerous condition, and I think they wired these that way to make it easier to cut the power on the Neutral let. Anyway, I'm returning it.

Love the convenience this device introduces (this applies to any alternative in the market too).Specificaly this on has 2 remotes which add more convenience and backup. Finally, I am not being lazy about using the vac for short jobs and also not being frustrated by having to walt to and from my vac.And of course you can use this kind of device for anything applicable, not just a vac.

This remote switch works as it should. I like the convenience of a wireless remote. I plan to use this when camping. I have an old air handler fan from a furnace that is rigged to run with an old dryer motor. Currently the plug is the only on/off switch, and sometimes in the middle of the night I need to turn the fan off. This switch will work perfectly to let me control it from bed. However, for some reason the soft start causes it to struggle to startup. In theory it should help with the generator power spike, but something about the power delivery causes the fan to start spinning slowly, then stall, and then recover and reach full speed. This was observed even on steady shore power in my garage. I'm not sure if it's something with my rigged up fan or an odd step-function in the soft start control of the switch.

This dust collector remote switch was bought last week, better pricing then what I could find in local stores and it works well so far. Quite happy with it

I purchased this for a water pump. Pump usually starts with a scary loud sound. Unfortunately the web description did not say that this switch will reset to OFF after supply power is cut off, needing you to manually turn on the switch each time. I needed a switch that will provide soft start whenever the supply power is turned on, without manually turning the switch on (an inline always on soft starter). Therefore I returned this after reading the instructions, without opening and trying out the switch, so I don't really know how this switch works as designed. Sorry.I did order another soft starter on Amazon that is in-line as I needed, and it is working so far, at half the price and size of this one.
