My OEM latch broke with a plastic part, not the metal spring. I had to make sure I was gettingbthe right part for my 2007 4Runner 4th gen. Therebus an amazing all-metal part, but I believe it is fir the 5th gen. I bought two in case this one breaks. So far so good, and its been a couple months.
