Trying to break down the filter housing to insert the filter has failed. Three different people have tried. Attempted to contact company via website twice yielded no response.

Purchased the Omeiry NSF/ANSI 42 water filtration system 10 months ago. On July 31st, In anticipation of changing the filter for the first time, I purchased a replacement filter. This month (October), I made attempt at trying to change the filter for the first time. Upon doing so, I discovered that there is no way to open the Omeiry system. It seems to be “stuck”. I am thinking that the system has created some sort of suction making it impossible to unscrew the canister from the base. At first, I thought I was doing something wrong, but after doing some research, I discovered that multiple people have had the same EXACT issue. I took another look at the directions on the website just to make certain I was not in overlooking something. Lo and behold the directions on the add for the Omeiry NSF/ANSI 42 picture a completely different filtration system in the diagramatic instructions. I attempted to reach out to the manufacturer, as I had read in a review dated just a few days ago that another customer had a similar issue with this unit and she was sent a replacement from the manufacturer, but there is no way to contact them. I then made attempt to reach out to Amazon customer service and described the problem. Unfortunately, since it has been more then 60 days, they refused to refund me for either the purchase of the Omeiry System or the filter. I asked if it would be possible for them to send me a new system, perhaps the one that is pictured in the diagram? Again, I was refused. Reasoning, it has been over 60 days since the purchase. I tried to explain to the person on the phone that the situation surrounding this return is not typical. Being that you purchase some thing such as a water filtration system and you do not replace that filter for eight months there would be no way of knowing that the system, and the filter are indeed faulty until you go to change the filter. I was placed on hold only for the customer service representative to tell me…Unfortunately, this is NOT an exception to the 60 day rule.WoW Amazon. A billion $$$ company and you can’t do any better?? Really???
