Not difficult to install. I had to reverse the valve so I could have the handle pointing down. That was the only change for installation. It is a durable metal and flat black. The look is a bit vintage. This replacement kit features metal construction, ensuring durability and dependability. The lever-style handle is easy to adjust and includes a red/blue temperature indicator on the escutcheon, providing clear guidance for temperature control.

I bought this to replace the original shower handle and even the installation was exactly the same as the original. However, the difference with this handle is that it doesn't scrape off the color every time you clean it like the original one did.
