The Thermal Couple worked great, installation wasn’t the easiest. If I had to do it again I would tie a string to the old one and pull it out. Then use the string to pull the new one in. That should/could save you a couple hours of work.

I had a fire in the BBQ area of my Louisiana Grills pellet smoker. Completely my fault, I let it go too long between cleanings. The probe did not work properly after the fire. I purchased this replacement. It is an exact replacement for the OEM probe. It works well, keeping the BBQ at the set temperature. The reason for the 3 star rating for installation is actually not the fault of the probe. To replace it, several parts of the BBQ have to be disassembled. The 3 stars for installation is meant as a heads up to folks that this is not a 5 minute job.

This was a direct replacement for the original. There was not instructions with the item on how to do a removal and installation. There is a trick to installing the new one, make sure you don't remove the old one first. There is still an adjustment time for the temp before the assigned temp, goes higher than what it is supposed to be for a few minutes. Overall, it seems to keep the temp for the duration of cooking.

Like many other reviews, I had a flareup in my Louisiana smoker. The delivery on this was prompt. Installation was easy and it works just fine again.

Grill used to show a rapidly unreasonable temperature climb and then would go into error. Replacing this wasn't quick and easy as I needed to use the original RTD sensor as a pull wire which required me to widen the hole so I could pull it through

Works perfectly on my Louisiana Grills LG900!Had a grease fire and ended up with the ERR-1 error code.Replaced the inside temp sensor with this one and all is good to go!Replacing the sensor was pretty easy, and took me only about 20min - needed only a phillips screwdriver...1) Unplug the BBQ.2) Inside the grill, remove the two shields for the temp sensor wire: a) Remove the long shield from the inside back wall. (six screws+washers from the outside rear of the grill) b) Remove the short shield from the inside left side wall - two screws on the inside, then two screws from the outside (left side of grill just behind the pellet hopper).3) Remove the temp sensor head from the long shield (one phillips screw and nut)4) Remove the side cover of the pellet hopper - remove six screws, then lift upwards and out, carefully unplug the connectors for the fan (which is attached to the side cover) - polarity does not matter, as the fan is AC 115V.5) Unplug the temp sensor wire from the electrical box (underneath the pellet hopper). Polarity does not matter. Carefully remove the old sensor - pull the sensor wires out from inside the BBQ chamber.6) Feed new sensor wires through from the inside of the BBQ chamber.7) Plug in new sensor connectors.8) Before putting everything together, test the BBQ - plug into 120V, then turn on. Once verified, then turn off and unplug the BBQ.9) Put everything back together in reverse order.10) Done!Hope this helps someone!

Replaced my broken factory probe on my Louisiana grill. Reads as it should and hasn’t given any trouble since installation.

I had a grease fire from not cleaning my grill enough. Temperature went too high from the fire and the grill shut off with an error 1. After cleaning, I tested to see if the grill still worked. The temp was jumping all over and was very unrealistic. I thought I would replace this sensor since it was cheap to see if that fixed it, and it seems to have done just that. Temp is consistent and seems to be as good as new.
