Before I even opened the box, the warning printed was: "IT IS NORMAL FOR 3 - 6 LEDS NOT WORKING".From a consumer standpoint, I find this unacceptable; they are informing the buyer, AFTER the fact, that the device is expected to be defective. Nothing in the product lists defective LEDS, and providing the information after the purchase is not ethical.I had defective LEDs on power-up, three on one unit and two on the other. Besides the faulty LEDs, the devices seem well-built and of quality materials. I have used the devices several times on local freshwater lakes with better-than-average results (catfish) than using no light. The cord length is sufficient for shallow to medium depth, but anything deeper than 15ft will require the lights hanging straight down.I regret that I can only rate it at two stars due to quality control and informing the customer of defective materials after the purchase. Otherwise, the device works well and would have received a five-star rating.

Please explain on a technical level how it's normal for your component to be 5% failed and faulty because that's not exactly confidence inspiring.

I'm surprised how bright these really are and the price is right. Built well and it does attract bait fish. I hook them up to my portable battery pack via the cig adapter. It does give you the option to hook it up directly to a 12v battery with clamps. If you fish at night, these just work!

They are perfect for underglowing your vessel. Puts out a 6-10ft radius of bloom per light, depending on water clarity. Bait fish absolutely love it. Checkup your local laws though. Most vessles aren't allowed to use the green color in my state due to pilot/navigation light laws.
