Well, this looked like it would be a nice, convenient lock. I think I've used it four times, I was going to use it a fifth and this is what happened to a hinge that was just from opening the lock. I can't imagine what a thief could do

This is such a great lock. Would be 5 stars if not for the holster issue.I ordered my first one several months ago. Solid. Works great! So, I ordered another one for another ebike last week. It arrived in a broken package all taped up. Still, the lock was not damaged so I pulled it out of the package and tried to get it out of the holster. Didn’t budge. The holster release button pushes in but the lock doesn’t come out of the holster.Not to be deterred, I ordered 2 more of the same locks figuring that at least one would work right. BOTH locks arrived in the same condition - repackaged and all taped up (see photo). Neither would come out of the holster - so totally un-usable.So, this is the 4th of the same lock that I’ve ordered and will be returning because I can’t get it out of the holster. There must have been a batch of faulty locks/holsters created and distributed. I’m so disappointed.Will wait a few weeks until (hopefully) there’s a new batch, then will order one again because when you can get this lock out of the holster, it is the most well made solid lock for the price point.

After loosing 1 e-bike to a cable style kryptonite, a ushape (from my other bike didn't fit my ride) I knew it was a bit heavy from reviews & no lock is fool proof, this along with (now 2 bike alarms) I feel more secure & super easy to use... my attitude if it draws attention they will move on to another, holder is handy & no keys to loose

This lock is very unobtrusive when stored on the seat-tube water-bottle braze-ons. It does weigh just a touch over 2 pounds, but I’m losing weight with all this biking and, when I lose the next kilogram, it will be like the lock’s not there at all.The pics show the bike locked for a Starbucks stop. A good lock and I deducted one star for three reasons:1. It rattles. Right now I am using a strip of foam to shut it up, but a better solution might be a couple of sleeves made out of inner tube. I’ll try that next time I change a tube.2. The index points on the combination lock are impossible to see in dim light. I colored them in with metallic marker, but the finish is so slick that I don’t that will last; I know that two dabs of touch-up paint rolled off immediately.3. Because of the way the bracket is designed, neither mounting bolt is a straight-in shot with an Allen wrench. The upper bolt in particular requires a huge reserve of profanity. It would help if the wrench supplied was ball-ended. It would also be a more secure mount if there was thread-locker on the threads. I added my own blue Loc-Tite.Overall, though, when coupled with a cable loop or luggage cable for the front wheel, it seems like a good theft-deterrent. This is my first new bike in quite a while and, hopefully, the Revere lock will help me hold onto it for years to come.

Love the lock. It's light weight and less noise. I also put electrical tape on the sides of the bars of the lock. Which makes it way less noises 🙂.

If you're used to a U-lock or a cable... forget what you know. Working with this lock is different in that you can't always snake it like a cable but it offers more locking options than just the U.Getting the end into the lock is another new skill to learn. The combo is easy to change and the number rings are solid. This lock ought to be difficult to cut and might present a challenge to thieves. It's still a good idea to have more than one lock especially if you are out of sight.
