This is the second Ritchey adjustable stem I have owned, and both of them are absolutely rock-solid, with no squeaking or wiggling at all. It feels like it is one piece when bolted together. Adjusting the angle is a little bit of work, but it is not hard, and once you find the right angle, you will never have to touch it again. Since a steering failure would be catastrophic, I wanted to be confident in this solution, and I am really happy to share that the build quality and performance are both excellent. This is not an item that you want to "cheap out" on.

I purchased this as a bit of a stopgap for my Salsa Timberjack because I originally bought the wrong frame size (went medium, should have gone large). This was a temporary solution until I could get a new frame and transfer everything over, which I ultimately did, but I was very happy with this stem during this transition period.This stem is very solidly built! I have had trust issues with adjustable stems in the past, but that is absolutely not a concern here. The two-bolt design is extremely robust and if installed correctly (which is easy to do) then there's basically a 0% chance of failure or slippage.Is it the sleekest stem on the market? No. Is it the lightest? Absolutely not. However, for what it sets out to do, it's perfect. If you are looking for an adjustable stem then you honestly cannot go wrong with this one.

Fitted to my Cube E bike to replace an adjustable stem with a single bolt that creaked alarmingly. The 2 bolts of this make for a much safer & creak free ride. It is a bit of a fiddle to adjust with the 2 bolts, however I would imagine for most riders once it is fitted & adjusted to suit it won't need to be moved again. Thoroughly recommended

I used this stem on a Trek 7.2 hybrid I bought some years ago. Frame size is an XL but always felt too small horizontally. I'm 6' 3" and used the stem to lengthen the distance from the saddle to the handlebars and then adjusted it vertically to obtain the best fit. It worked perfectly. There are no angle markings that I can see so vertical adjustment will be set to what feels best to the rider. Make sure your steerer tube diameter and handlebar diameter meet the requirements of the stem. I wound up buying a new handlebar as well to get a little more width between the grips. Plus I bought some Ergo bar end grips to complete the mods that gave me several more hand positions helping to eliminate hand numbness. Some simple mods converted my bike from uncomfortable to very comfortable! Also, the stem is very solidly constructed and very high quality like all other Ritchey products. I highly recommend!

I think everyone needs at least one of these because it's adjustable. It helps you figure out what your most comfortable stem angle is. I even installed it on my wife's bike to help her figure out what she likes. After researching many others, I chose this one because of the teeth that lock it in to place once you tighten it down. I trust that it wont release when I'm flying down a hill at 30 mph. It's solid, sturdy, and made my mountain bike a whole lot more comfortable to ride! I am extremely pleased!!

Der Vorbau ist gut und solide verarbeitet,passgenau und schnell montiert. Bei gewissenhafter Montage klappert hier nichts, auch am eMtb bergauf mit Zug am Lenker keinerlei Probleme. Absolut empfehlenswert.

I recently purchased a new flat bar road bike. My legs are proportionately longer than my torso, so I ended up needing a larger frame size than I expected for my legs to fit properly. This made the handlebars a bit of a reach. I ended up in good racing form, with my back nearly parallel to the ground, but this was a bit too aggressive a posture to be comfortable for longer rides.I thought this part might help a bit, but was surprised once I actually installed it how much a difference it made. The bike is now a whole lot more comfortable. The part is also adjustable with a basic Allen wrench, so it can be set back to a more aggressive position if I ever need to race.Installation was pretty easy and only took a few minutes. Unless you want to take chances with damaging the bike or having the bars collapse mid-ride, use a torque wrench to make sure everything is tightened properly (the IceToolz Ocarina is cheap and works well for this).
