This set of chisels are a good size with a nice heavy feel to them. The nice weight will help with certain jobs and tasks, and though I currently do not need these for any projects, come summer I have a few that these will come in handy for. When that time comes, I am confident these will do the job. Obviously only time will tell if these will last through heavy use, so if they fail at all or warp in any way, I will come back to update my review. So far though, very happy with these. Definitely appear to be exactly what I had hoped they would be. Nice grip, heavy feel, solid metal.

I found this to be a good chisel. A previous owner of my house covered the water pressure regulator in cement. I had to break the cement in order to access and service the water pressure regulator. I used this chisel and a 3-pound sledgehammer. After a few whacks, I noticed that the chisel's blade was already nicked up and damaged. However, I continued to use it and it got the job done. In the future, should I ever need to make precise cuts, I will probably have to sharpen the blade. However, for straightforward demolition work, this proved to be a handy tool to have.

Very solid chisel with a nice size guard around the strike point, offering good protection for your hand if you miss with the hammer every once in a while ;)

This stubby little chisel works well. Easy to hold, good protection, easy to use. I like the price. It's durable and will serve me well in my projects.

This has a generously sized hand guard, great for those with less than perfect aim! I do wish that the impact point above the guard, where you bring the hammer down, was metal – instead, it is plastic, and will be damaged if you use a metal mallet or hammer with it. You’ll need to use a rubber one instead.Although the product title includes ‘breaking’ and ‘hounding’, suggesting this can serve as a rock hounding tool for breaking open rocks, it’s not really intended for that purpose. The relatively wide blade distributes the force of your blow, which is great when you’re trying to sheer a layer of crumbling concrete off, but not so good when you want a concentrated point of impact to split something. That said, it’s wide, flat design makes it useful for concrete, cement, brick, and other such materials. The blade did get a little dinged up when I was testing it on some harder (quartz) materials, but it wasn’t significant enough to impact it’s function. The blade is steel and you should be able to smooth or sharpen it if desired. Overall, a good chisel for home projects.

I like this chisel a lot.The main reason I got this one is to see if I will do better with the wider protection, as opposed to my old chisels that have nothing at all to save me from bad swings.I was impressed with the way this fits comfortably in my hand. The blade is sharp and didn't get damaged with a short test on some junk concrete I had out back. I will eventually need to sharpen it, but not every day.

The Rizom 8-Inch Rock Chisel, Ston Chisel with Hand Protection, Heavy Duty Masonry Chisel for Carving Scaling and breaking is a top-quality tool that's totally necessary for major masonry projects. I got this for re-tucking the brickwork on my home and brick fencing. All of this brickwork was done 73 years ago and much of the mortar has failed or is failing. Much of the existing mortar must be broken out and this is the tool to accomplish the task. This is a sturdy and durable chisel that can handle an enormous amount of heavy pounding from a small sledgehammer. It has a protective hard rubber sleeve to protect your hand from being struck by the hammer and to absorb the nerve damaging vibrations from the hammer strikes. This tool allows you to prevent injuries and long-term damage. Its width helps keep the chisel in line so you break mortar and not bricks that can be re-used thus saving money on materials. I'm very satisfied with the quality, strength and performance of the Rizom 8" chisel with hand protection and consider it an excellent value!

As a participant in Amazon Vine, I have the opportunity to evaluate various products, and I recently ordered this 8-inch chisel bit for a demolition project. Based on my experience, I hope to provide helpful insights for potential buyers. This chisel bit proved to be very useful during my demolition project, which involved removing an old brick door stoop and skirt from the side of my house. I began with a 5-pound sledgehammer to break up the mortar between the bricks. Afterward, I switched to a 3-pound sledgehammer to remove the residual mortar on the sub-slab.One of the features I appreciate most about this chisel is the guard. I don’t always have the best aim, and the guard helped prevent injury from any wayward blows.Out of the box, the fit and finish of this chisel are quite good. However, it won't look pristine after hours of use during demolition. Nevertheless, aside from some dust and scraped paint, the chisel holds up well under the pounding. In conclusion, I have a positive overall impression of this chisel. While professionals might prefer premium brands like Bosch, Milwaukee, or DeWalt, I see this as a solid choice for DIY enthusiasts seeking an affordable option. There's no need to spend a fortune to achieve great results, and I recommend considering this chisel as a viable option when selecting a demolition tool.
