Bought this as a travel uke that I can sometimes leave inside my parked car. Sounds more plastic-y than my mahogany uke, but perfectly adequate for lessons and fun. Strings held tuning within two days. Tuning pegs work fine even though they feel like they sometimes slip. Case is decent, snug fitting. Electronic tuner works for G, E and A, but vibrates so it cannot detect C.Good purchase, sturdy.

I love this ukulele. I can take it to the beach and not have to worry about wood swelling or warping. I can leave it in the car all day and it's just fine. I changed the strings and put a low G on it and it sounds great. I didn't like the carry case that came with it. The pocket is not big enough. So I swapped it with another case I had and everything is good.

NO! It's a great ukulele with great tone. BUT we ordered it by mistake. They will let us return it, BUT the will withhold $30. of our money to do that. We are NOT happy! Be careful... This feels like a terrible ripoff.

I love the cut away. Love the spring loaded capo, however digital tuner doesn't quite measure up to overtones. Nice case, hard and soft picks, and . The straps could definitely be longer a nice booket. Overall, 3 things I particularly love, the cut away, the case and the ukulelethe important things. That's why i give it 5 stars. It's quality decent price for it all.

This looks and sounds great, carbon fiber is tough yet has great tone and it is very well made. I am sure that any abuse my little (toddler) granddaughter can dish out - this will survive. She likes to try to play and bang on my guitar so I got her this uke (that we call her guitar). The only problem I have is the zippers on the case stick and jam too much around the body of the uke. Since it wasn't meant to be a traveler for me we just zip the top part of the case to keep the uke inside. The uke does fit snugly in the case and it won't fall out even if the case is open. Being it is a semi-hard shell case it is strong enough to hold up to a toddlers abuse. If the case was an important feature for me traveling I would have exchanged this for another (as long as the case was good on the replacement). But as I said this is for my granddaughter and the only traveling it will do is across the room.

This is a WONDERFUL set. If you have ever considered getting a uke for yourself or your kid, this one is a winner. I was tremendously impressed right from the start with the case, which is the nicest uke case I have yet seen. It is almost a hard-sided case. Really nice. Upon opening the case, I was pleased to discover a very comprehensive book on learning to play the ukulele! (I personally don't need it, but I plan to pass it along to someone who does!) I also found a bag containing a wealth of unexpected goodies - a spare set of strings, a uku capo, a cleaning cloth, a tuner, and a strap! Oh, and of course a pick! The uke itself is a cool matte black - I mean TOTALLY black. Maybe the only criticism I have of this is that since the neck and the frets are all black, it's hard to sometimes see where the frets are. Perhaps the frets should have been silver? That would have looked great too!Uke has a regular soundhole in front, but because it is thinner than a traditional uke (it's a travel uke) they also added a soundhole on top (see picture). This helps to project the sound and prevent it from sounding too thin.I was very pleased to see that this uke has geared tuners, which are SO much better than the friction sort. It also means that the uke is likely to stay in tune for longer.I was able to tune and play this right out of the box. The sound is good. No the best I've ever heard, but I wouldn't expect that with a thin, light travel uke. It does, though, sound perfectly great for traveling, taking to the beach, or throwing in the back of the car when you head off for a trip. Unlike wood ukes, you don't have to worry about humidity or lack of it. I'm really happy with the uke and highly recommend it.

With the popularity of carbon fiber ukulele, especially from a ukulele company that has popularized it, I wasn't surprised if others follow suit. And sure enough, we have the Rosen Carbon Fiber Concert Ukulele, which sells its concert ukulele for under $70! That's $30 cheaper than its competitor.Rosen is based in China and while many ukulele’s from major brands are made in China, Rosen is about affordability and also making sure those who are wanting to learn the ukulele, you get treated with a lot of cool swag and a gig bag.The company includes with the travel uke and gig bag, a strap, a capo, two picks, polishing cloth and backup Rosen nylon strings, plus a tuner (which the competitor does not offer).  I probably will switch out the strings, geared to my preference. While the competitor says their carbon fiber uke is 30% carbon fiber & polycarbonate, Rosen doesn't say what their is comprised of.You get two sound holes on this carbon fiber uke, one in the center and another located on the side of the body. There are no fret marks on the fretboard or on the side but it's important to note that the competitor has it on the front.  Rosen does include stickers. And you can get this carbon fiber ukulele in a variety of colors.  I chose a white concert (which is 23" and taller than a soprano and shorter than a tenor).  I like the headstock has that hole in the center. One primary difference between the two is the scale length. Rosen is slightly shorter by .75 inches.  The fretboard is much different in that it's more standard (straight), while the competitor radiates from the nut and downward.According to the company, the Rosen ukulele is capable of adapting to temperature of -4°F to 140°F, and humidity of 10% -90%, from the desert to Iceland, it won't let you down.  And is super lightweight with 1.2 lbs, and with 1.62 inches thickness, we refined the manufacturing detail of both the neck and fretboard, which are CNC machined with a comfortable curve. Now, why do I love these carbon fiber ukulele?  For one, they are great for travel, they can take a beating and if you are buying for kids, no need to worry if its  banged on wall, dropped or if it falls off your wall hanger.  It's a sturdy uke!I do recommend that if you buy for kids, maybe go for another color other than black as finger prints can be easily seen.  Black looks cool but it shows fingerprints quite well, that's why I went for white.  As I do have carbon fiber ukulele in which fingerprints easily show. So, with that being said, will this become my primary carbon fiber ukulele?  Well, both produce a much different sound, but in someways, its a bit hard to remember as I have had the competitor for awhile and it's the ukulele that gets a lot of play and has strings that I changed out.  But there is a noticeable difference and not sure if the double soundhole for the Rosen makes things a bit different.Overall, this is a really good travel concert ukulele from Rosen. Especially, if you are in the market for a travel ukulele or a uke to keep in the car or to play at home. There is no doubt that Enya, Flight and Luna have a strong footing in the market for durable, travel ukuleles but there is room for more. And in this competitive market for ukulele, Rosen not only comes out swinging but also offering their carbon fiber concert ukulele for much cheaper and also a with much more extras, making the Rosen Carbon Fiber Concert 23" Ukulele worth considering for those on a budget!
