Inspired by the penetrating tone of legends such as John Entwistle and Chris Squire, players worldwide have strung up their bass guitars with Swing Bass 66 strings. The distinctive sound of our roundwound Swing Bass 66 strings have been used by the bass-world’s biggest hitters such as Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheehan, Noel Redding, Duff McKagan, and John Paul Jones. The bright red silk ends are hard to miss!
From the Manufacturer
This is the roundwound string that James How and John Entwistle perfected into what was to become the industry standard. The bright, punchy, high-energy sound of Swing Bass 66 strings is a major part of early rock music history and brought the bass player from the back line to the front of the stage.

I have always known Rotosounds are king of hit and miss but unfortunately they’re the only company that makes a light medium scale bass string. First a medium scale bass is 32-33 inches but the low e string was clearly from a long scale are which means the string tapes on the capstan not after which can crate tuning issues. Secondly the low strings sound like the month old set I just took off while the high strings sound great. I love how slinky and easy to bend they are but unfortunately the low strings sound dull and have a horrible overtime that makes them sound chorused or detuned. I’ll go back to my .100 Ernie Balls and hope that someone else comes out with a set of .90 medium scale.

Been using these strings for years. Best strings I have ever used. Great price too.

Nice set and sounds great, only slightly long on the E string where the steel winds into the tuner nut on my MIJ Squier p bass

With certian items you know what they are and just hope they come as promissed. Well Yes and Yes. Came as advertised and they are great. I have choosen Roto sound for sometime now. I love the response and long life brightness and trueness of lows and high alike. Also full discloesur I am a big Who fan and John Entwistle of the Who was often working with the guys at Roto sound. This set is now on a Baby Buzzard, a short scale custom made bass and I love it even more with the Roto sounds.

Love the bright tone and I don't think there is much low end loss on my P-Bass.

These are one of the few strings explicitly sold as being for medium scale basses (31-32” vs standard 34”). Silk windings barely reach the tuners, and one string broke on installation (by a trained luthier). Your mileage may vary.

Rock solid bass strings. These babies really sound off but are a little rough on your fingers at first. If you like that piano bass zing this is what you want.

There are no other options for medium scale in Roto Roundwounds. So I picked this one. G, D, and A sound great but "E" sucks. I'm disappointed at hearing the 4th string sounds dead. Sounds detuned, either. I suppose .090 can't earn much tension at all in the medium scale. Can't hold your goup together with this Rotosound String.-+-+-+--+-+A month later, the E is now sounding better but still sounds dead comparing to other strings.

I play an Epiphone Viola which is a short scale bass. However because of the long tailpiece you need these medium scale stringsinstead of short scale strings.I stupidly ordered short scale and had to replace them with these.Nice sound though.
