I bought this to cover the floor in my tack closet in the barn. It's perfect. It's heavy enough so that it doesn't move around and stands up to the dirt I constantly track in. So far all I have to do is sweep it off but looks like I can easily hose it down in the spring if it gets really dirty.

At least 8 years ago i started using this recycled ruber called elphant rubber and was a very good purchance.I was amazed on how strong and eaasy to install that product is. My first use was for outside porch. It does not have to be glued or tied down an stays in place. You can drop any thing on it and does not even make a mark; easy to keep clean, snow or ice does not stick to it, it does not discolor etc... My second purchace now; after 8 years is for my garage floor. IT IS STRONG !!!!!!!!!

I use these in my home gym, they're great. I've had them for almost a year and had no issues whatsoever, until I bought a nice bench. I bought a REP bench that weighs 125~lbs, and every time I move the bench the mats crumple beneath the wheels and then they're all out of whack. I suppose I could fix this by securing the mats to each other or the floor, I just don't want to committ to the flooring long term right now. It's not a quality concern, the quality is phenomenal and I love the look of these mats, it's just the thickness presents some issues sometimes when you're talking about dragging heavy objects across it. Would I recommend? Sure, I don't regret the purchase whatsoever, but just know they're not as thick as commercial gym flooring as the description clearly states, they're thick enough to prevent you from destroying your floors, although I wouldn't test the waters with anything extremely heavy.

Build a home gym over PLUSH carpet in a few easy steps!1. Measure room and have Home Depot cut you 1/2” plywood sheets to fit. Place directly on carpet. Allow dog to inspect.2. Tape sheets together with extra thick black gorilla tape (add to your Amazon order!)3. Roll out floor and push together to align. Run rolls opposite the seams of plywood. So HEAVY that I didn’t even need to tape it down.4. Place equipment on top! You’re done!I cannot BELIEVE how much money I saved with this product. Our home gym floor is sturdy, no slip, catches weights. Haven’t tested drops over 200 lbs but very durable so far! No curling so no tripping. Sweep clean. All of this over brand new super high pile carpet. Cheaper than stall mats. Medium odor that dissipates to very low odor in a couple days. Just has a traditional gym-like smell that I very much enjoy. The smell doesn’t make it out to the hallway. Incredibly minor variation in cuts, about 1/8” in length. Seriously, save hundreds and pick this floor!

I don't often review products, but this product deserves the time it will take. I searched and compared hundreds of different brands and options for my indoor gym floor. I first bought and immediately returned the "horse stall" mats due to the smell and concern over the safety of the source of rubber (China). If you are doing an indoor gym, save yourself the time and hassle and go directly to this RubberCal product. The smell from off-gassing is significantly less and the install is significantly easier. The other recommendation I have is to go for the thinner material, which is contrary to the advice of most home gym bloggers or youtubers. The thinner (6 or 7 mm) product still lays flat and seams are not an issue with carpet tape. It also makes the cutting and install much, much easier. I took out my carpet and left the padding, then put down the rolled rubber over the pad. Perfect balance of cushioning and firmness for a variety of workouts. If you are deadlifting or dropping heavy weights, just get a thicker mat for that area. One last tip: use cheap quarter-round trip along walls to cover up cutting imperfections... you will never be able to get the mat to go perfectly along the wall, no matter how straight you cut. If you cant tuck under the existing wall trim, just add quarter-round trim.I wish I had more honest reviews when I debated for hours on which product and thickness to get. The bottom line is this: get the clean/USA-sourced rubber, opt for thinner material for ease of install, use quarter-round trim to hide imperfections of cutting along walls.

I purchased two of these rubber mats for my home-gym floor that is concrete and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! These Rubber Cal mats are thick, sturdy, and will last me ‘forever’ — and they are cushiony enough to give me a layer over that concrete, but firm enough for my workouts, particularly where I have my heavy bag and needed something firm but with some give, and that I can shuffle my feet on but not slide around on—they are not slippery at all and that was a huge plus for me, that they are not slick. They roll out like a rug—easy to install! I just unrolled each one over the area I wanted to cover: done. They come in different sizes, again, like a rug. I ordered 4x6 and 4x7. I choose just plain black.I’d definitely order these again—I have another area I want to cover. When you open the box, there will be a slight rubbery scent but it wasn’t unpleasant, and once I placed them in my workout room and went back later, I didn’t notice it at all.I also love that they are American made, a big plus.Very pleased! Recommend!

We have 2 home offices with hardwood flooring. We have tried all kinds of mats, mainly for noise reductions, limit chair rolling and to not damage the flooring. With pets sometimes carpet mats get damaged. Carpet mats get worn very quickly by the chair wheels. We decided on the rubber mat for durability, resistant to pet stains, noise reduction and floor protection. These mats are perfect. absolutely no complaints. They would also be ideal under exercise equipment.

Excellent product. Packaged well and lays flat with NO CURL at all. It is thin enough so I don't trip over it but does a good job for my various workouts including jumping rope (and I am over 200lbs). The surface is smooth and my shoes stay put (i.e. stick) when doing sit-up on the exercise ball.I would have expected some chemical odor but to my pleasant surprise there is NONE!NO Curl, NO smell, NO slipping, NO tripping! No more cheap mats for me. You get what pay for.

I cut the 20ft section in half to make an 8x10 gym area. Small seam between the two pieces, but the materiel is square enough that I didn't bother to tape the pieces together.I'm on a tile floor over concrete. This gives a nice grippy surface to work out an, and protects the tiles.
