I bought this as a cooking tool. Great to tenderize and flatten any meat. Easy to clean, storage, sturdy but not too heavy. It is a little curved, so you will need to have a flat board on top of your meat to flatten it properly.

what can you say about a rubber mallet? we had one but the pool chemicals rusted it out and the handle broke. this one we keep separate now. we use it to tighten and/or loosen the covers on the pool equipment. very efficient.

I needed the mallet to take out and put in metal shelves. It worked really good without damaging the shelves.

I make wire Jewelry and finger splints. I needed something to help form and harden my materials. A hardware size rubber hammer is overkill and hard on my arthritis to lift and swing.This does the job in a more manageable size for me uses. I did wash with soap and water and air it for 2 days prior to use. Got rid of the odor and its never left a black mark on any of my work
