Having replaced these on a number of s series pickups and blazers, the parts are adequate to repair the doors and will last a reasonable amount of time. The most hazardous part of the repair is removing and installing the tension spring on the door positioner. This puts pressure against the roller pin. I'd like to say the tool provided will do the job and it may but looking at the construction of it compared to the real deal I purchased the first time I had to repair one of these vehicles 15 years ago and you can clearly see how cheesy this tool is made. All I can say is, if you do use the tool provided, go slowly, wear face protection and gloves and keep the spring pointed left to right in front of you at all times. Make sure the kids and animals are not around when you do this. Even with a good tool, it's good advise. I've never had to force the spring in, you must grab all but the 2 outer coils and compress to coil bind the rest and it will go right in. When you release the tension it will pinch the tool a bit. Use a large screwdriver to hold the spring while you pull/wiggle the tool out. Just make sure the outer coils are fully in their respective seats before doing so. Took me 10 minutes to replace just the roller that bent as the previous kit 5 years ago was just pins and bushings. The roller was fine at the time. When your done, spray Lithium grease on the pin bushings and the roller. BTW a sharpened chisel and a 3lb hand sledge took care of the top of the old pin and a drift pin knocked it right out. No grinding or sawing needed. Air chisel with a sharp bit would do the trick. Be more surgical on someones show truck but this 24 year old truck has more than a few scratches on her and she's proud of every scar. (You should see what she's left on her opponents)All in all, everything you need is here and will work fine for the money. 1 star off for the weak tool. (Psst! Sell the parts without the tool and sell a better quality tool separately.) Some last notes to be mindful of: Each pin gets 1 small diameter bushing and one larger. (Hole through the bushings are 2 different sizes) No they are not tight fitting. After installing the bushing into the hinge it will be tight enough to the pin. Large bushing will be for the "head" of the pin. Lay out the parts first to ensure you put them in the correct position on the hinge so the "head" of the pins are positioned as they were originally. Hey! Buy the wife some flowers or dinner out with the money you saved doing this yourself. You have enough fishing poles!

The pins and bushings were easy to install. The spring compression tool is junk. The first one bent and didn’t compress spring at all. I requested a replacement and they sent it. Same thing, the compression tool flares out as you compress the spring. I will be sending this one back as well.****Update****The customer service from the seller was great, the best I’ve received. Bravo Zulu.

As far as the kit goes you have everything you need as far as pin/bushing/spring replacement but the spring compressor is useless. Was not any help taking spring out or putting it back in. To take spring out just use pry bar, then put the spring in a vice, compress completely , use two zip ties, loosen vice rotate spring, compress again, apply two more zip ties. Place spring in door hinge, cut zip ties and you’re done! Save your money and your time, just buy the pin kit, no spring compressor.

I got this spring kit to replace both hinges on my S10. My pins had worn out and I was missing the spring parts altogether. So the door would always swing back at me when opening it. It was about time to get that fixed as I bought the used truck like that. This kit has the pins and springs and everything you need.After pressing in the bushings, everything easy was easy. The spring install was a learning process and I got them installed. Now the doors stay wide open and don’t swing back at me. I should have gotten this kit earlier.I highly recommend this kit, especially if you are missing your springs.

Nice quality parts to fix the sagging door in my S10. I didn't have any issues with the spring tool. Everything was spot on and fit right.

I felt inclined to leave a review for this kit as it only has a few and the one review it shows isn’t really accurate. Anyone that’s dealt with these S10 trucks knows that the door hinges are notorious for falling apart. This set has all the parts to rebuild all 4 hinges. The bushings appear to be a cast iron material. They are far better than the crumbling brittle bronze bushings that come with the Dorman set. The pins for the roller seem well made and fit good. The spring compressor I’d call adequate. I do have a better one but decided to give the included one a try so I could comment on it. It got the job done though it feels like it’s being pushed hard. Wouldn’t hesitate to use it to do one job. Obviously you should be cautious with compressed springs. Lots of stored energy. Get it started in the tool then get it up where it goes for the final compression so that if it does come out it goes in a safe direction! $33 is an absolute bargain for all these parts. As this is a customers truck, it will be leaving but it will undoubtedly be back for other work later so I will update as to how the hinges hold up. As someone who’s been dealing with these trucks since the early 90s, I’m impressed with this kit and will buy again for the next one that rolls in the shop.

Cheap and not usable product. Will not compress springs to a usable size to take off or put on. It bent out and shot a door spring and busted a window costing even more money than it would have taken to take it to a mechanic to fix just the door hinge set.

This kit is a lifesaver! The fact that it includes the tool makes it so much easier to fix sagging doors on my Chevy. The process was straightforward, but I’d definitely recommend watching some YouTube videos beforehand—they explain everything step by step.One tip: watch out for the spring when it pops out! It can be a bit tricky to handle. Also, having two people to help is a game-changer. One person can hold the door steady while the other works, which is way easier than trying to use a floor jack.All in all, this kit worked perfectly and saved me a ton of time and frustration. Highly recommend it for anyone dealing with door sag!
