These would be awesome pirate pants but due to the unique style of the tie lace placement on these pants, they can be used casually. I’m female and because I wanted them loose, I ordered a size up. The pants are super cute with the ankle laces in and rolled up or with the ankle laces out and rolled up. The 100% cotton makes these extremely comfortable altogether but especially in hot weather. They are light (but not transparent), and as is true with cotton, they have some give/loosen once worn a bit.

These pants are set at a great price for a starter / lightweight use pair of reniessance, costume, cosplay pants. The fabric is thin (not translucent) so will not insulate against the cold but great from warmer weather. The stitching is cleanly done but not a heavy duty stitch. Be weary if you plan to be physically active in these pants. The front lacing is purely decorative. There is no fly. The lacing on the "fly" and on the ankles is very thick! If you plan to wear a wide belt over the waist or tuck these into boots, you may want to chance them out to something thinner.Be aware that THESE BLEED IN THE WASH!!! I've only washed them once so far but the color did bleed. Use caution.

These pants tie well on both the waist and legs with a rough and sailorly look. Good for a pirate or villager costume if you have a tunic or linen henley. Simple and quick for a costume you're building up. The brown is a bit lighter than the pictures.

Got These For My Step Dad And He Loves Them! They’re Very Soft, He Says They’re Very Comfortable, They Have Side Pockets, Elastic Waistband, And Lace Up Cuffs On The Pants Leg. Overall 10/10
