Your cart is empty. A one package moisture cured polyurethane coating designed for application over any steel or cast iron surface, including galvanized or stainless steel. Rustlok Steel Primer contains aluminum flake pigment which forms a dense, water impervious barrier. The result is excellent corrosion protection. In addition, Rustlok's polyurethane chemistry offers tremendous adhesive strength and wetting ability. It is this combination that allows Rustlok to perform well even when applied over rusted surfaces. An easy-to-apply, effective, anti-corrosive barrier coating.
Coverage: 350 square feet per gallon, 3 coats recommended

Need to protect and destroy corrosion? This is a strong and fine product. Wish I had found this years ago. Worth every penny.

USED THIS PRODUCT BACK IN 1980 WHEN I WORKED AT MARINA. NEEDED TO COAT SOME RUSTYMETAL & REMEMBERED IT. WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE STILL AVAILABLE. DID ITS MAGIC LIKE IT DIDYEARS AGO. METAL SEALED & PAINTED........TERRIFIC PRODUCT.

I love the way it look after I painted some old rusted boxes that I derust and sandblast but that is only for an underlay because theirs an overlay. The only caution I can say wear a good filter mask I was hurting with a simple mask and do paint outdoors or very well ventilated indoors. In case your wondering I talk to the rep of Pettit its best just to use it for steel type boats or any steel parts not for Aluminum. Please share if have anymore info on this if possible. thanks!

Even an amateur like me can get excellent results with Pettit Rustlock Metal Primer. I applied three thin coats to the metal components of my sailboat. The rich, silver-colored finish looks exactly as I had hoped it would.

Added a nice barrier coat to separate my cast iron keel from the anti-fouling copper bottom paint. I painted two coats.
