I received this weed whacker on July 26 2024 I put together and tried to use it with in Twenty Minutes it was smoking and quit. I had registered it on the Ryobi site when it arrived so I went to look for a warranty claim and found out that since it was manufactured in 2021 it is out of warranty, to old. So I contacted Amazon who helped me get a third party return label [witch I would have to pay shipping] . A 98. Dollar weed whacker would cost me out of pocket 38. dollars to ship back. Not happening ,I will go back to my Gas weed Whacker and this is a lesson learned. Just wanted to put it out there for others to be careful. Peter Jewell

This is the second one of these Ryobi 18v string trimmer units I’ve owned. I bought the wrong gauge string and burned my old one up. They’re strong and powerful as long as you stay with the proper string gauge. I love this new one, I have an 8.0Ah Li Ion battery.

This trimmer is smaller and lighter than my other Ryobi trimmer. It kind of feels like a "kid" size. It trims fairly well, and would be more practical for smaller yards.

I’m 75 years old & I live be this trimmer! It’s light enough that I can use it, it cuts really well around my flower gardens, dog lot & garden beds. I would recommend this to anyone.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical about whether this could really pull off a decent edging job on my entire yard. And I now admit I am pleasantly surprised with it. It has some serious guts; it definitely does the job and then some. The battery seems to last well and I'm very happy with it.

I will try again w back up battery. One battery didn't last very long. Have big yard . Will have to get a bigger 40 v battery or whatever size I need to last longer. Just getting used to the line feeding. A short learning curve I am sure.

I got this for upkeep on my smaller yard (about 1/6 of an acre). This product works well for the job. I have all Ryobi powertools, and this was nice as it uses the same battery as the rest of my stuff. I have plenty of charge on one full battery to clean up my entire yard. Wouldn't work all that well for anything much bigger unless you had extra batteries ready to go. Also, the 4 inch max on the line is a little limiting, but for most jobs it works fine. All in all, I would recommend for anyone with a smaller/medium sized yard, very light and easy to use.
