This 4 base external ssd dock station is not good . If you have an ssd enclosure size a little height then you cannot close an up top with a fan. Second, it keep pop up on your screen every 2 second after you clear it…SABRENT needs to do something about this. I returned it.

The sabrent 4-bay SSD docking station (DS-4BNE) keeps powering down SSDs even when trying to copy files which causes crashes and corruption of files. Been trying to deal with sabrent customer service for more than three months regarding this issue to no avail. Sabrent customer service is unfamiliar with their own products and certainly unqualified to troubleshoot problems with their product. I've quit trying to deal with sabrent, period. I will take a $400 loss on their products and throw them away. I would not even feel right trying to sell their product used.

This thing broke after 2 days - customer service was terrible, did not help and did not replace anything. Stay far far away from sabrent products, this is the 3rd thing I've bought from them that has broken, and they are cheaply made.If I could leave a negative review I would.

A sad story.1. Wanted to use the Docking station for backup purposes with some left-over NMVe's. Both the first and second units ordered had fans that did not work, so ultimately returned both.2. Discovered that really the only individual NMVe enclosures that worked were the Sabrent aluminum housing that were twice as expensive as the docking station itself. A rude awakening. But they worked and were built well.3. I used the enclosure with a spare mini-fan I had that kept the four enclosures cool during the backup process.4. For all four NMVe's, they copied for a few hours at a combined transfer rate of 1000/MB per second, which was phenomenal.5. However, all four NMVe's failed at some time during the backups, with all reverting from a healthy partition state to a RAW state. I could re-format them to healthy drives, but could not do the backups.6. Finally returned the enclosures and docking station.Beautiful packaging that masked a rather flimsy docking station that didn't work. For my purposes, not a fully functional or performing product.

First of all, you can't leave a review for just the 5-Bay USB-C Dock. The system throws everything under the 4-Bay dock so you need to read them carefully.I had the:SABRENT 4 bay USB SSD DS-4BNE and wanted a USC dock so I purchased theSABRENT 5-Bay USB-C Docking Station for 2.5” SATA HDDs and SSDs with Built-in Cooling Fan (DS-5R15) without reading some of the nuances. It does handle SSD drives but the opening is big enough for Hard Drives so the SSD kind of flops around in the opening. The DS-4BNE is for SSDs only so they fit snugly. Live and learn. See picture to help gauge the opening sizes.

Title. Frequently disconnects which interrupts large file transfers.SSD works with no issue when only using the enclosure. However when using the docking bay, a connection isn't maintained.

There are few things worse than having to wait out a pokey data transfer from an external drive to your computer. In some professions, you have to do this often and it's always a miserable experience. This device takes much of the pain out of that process--at least if you use certain SABRENT drive models. If you *do* have SABRENT drives this is a really handy device. You can use it as a docking station for your external SSDs and this alone is worth the price of admission. I have some SSDs from other brands and never know where to put them. I usually put them in a remote part of my desk but they inevitably get all jumbled up. With this device, you can dock up to four relevant SABRENT drives and give them a permanent home. There are led indicators on the side for each drive since they're individually accessible.Data transfers are scorching fast--obviously much depending on the power of your PC and the connection protocol. With the latest USB protocol it's insanely fast. It's backwards compatible all the way back to USB 1.1 but obviously each step back in time will hamper your transfer speeds. One nice touch is the on-board cooling fan that you can activate if necessary. I didn't really put it through the sustained operation to justify the fan but the last thing you need is for everything to overheat if you've got a lot of data to transfer. One thing that would really make this device better is for more universal compatibility for different brands of SSDs. That clearly might not be what SABRENT wants to achieve, but from a practical standpoint it would definitely expand their potential market. A smaller form factor would also be a plus, though I'm not sure how much they could shrink it and still accommodate the wide range of drives (plus the fan). It's not at all heavy but not exactly portable. These minor issues notwithstanding, a great device. Highly recommended!
