Test the sound in a proper area, it's very loud! The light is also really bright so you'll be seen some distance away. It's also easy to turn on but took me a few seconds to turn it off when using the button. I really like that it's rechargeable and don't need to worry about having batteries, and that they are mostly colours that aren't natural to where I live so it would stick out of lost or something happened. Each box contained an alarm and a tiny charge cord.

I am prone to falls yet I can usually get up. Only once have I needed help. I didn’t have any way to call out for help so I laid there quite a while. With something Ike this I could have gotten the help I needed. I don’t need an expensive home monitor but this alarm would have been nice.I only gave 4 stars because I wish it would come in more muted colors so that my husband would carry one.

My husband has Parkinsons. His voice is too soft for me to hear if not beside him. He stays up later than I do. I needed a way for him to let me know if he needed me or if he fell when I was asleep. I looked into many systems but none seemed right at the time. This little alarm is freaking loud, I hear it anywhere in the house. The button is easy to push even on a bad day for him. We have 2, one in hs pocket and one in the bathroom. I think it would be great for a person alone at night to scare off anyone or animal. The flashing light is a bonus. At the low price of $10 ish it's a bargain and well worth the price.

Oh it’s loud. But this thing has cursed me. Make sure you remember how to turn it off is all I can say.It arrives in the mail and you test it out once. Great! You put it on your keys and forget about it. Then one day you’re in a hospital parking lot and accidentally hit it and it starts going off. And you can’t remember how to turn it off. After frantically trying to turn it off for about 30 seconds you get it to shut up. You’re mortified the whole day but move on with your life.But don’t worry, it gets worse. Another year goes by after that incident. You’re at church this time. Pastor asks everyone to stand and so you do. You don’t carry a purse so you grab your keys to put them in your pocket and as you do that you accidentally pull on them and the alarm starts going off. In the middle of the service. And it gets EVEN better!!!!! You don’t remember how to turn it off!!!!! As you frantically panic trying to turn it off you have to have an innocent volunteer help you in the lobby.Hopefully I never get attacked and that me screaming will be enough as a call for help as I’m throwing this thing away and never buying anything like this every again.

I would have liked a louder alarm, but I chose this alarm over one with 140 decibels and less expensive alarms with the 130 decibles because the battery was rechargeable, the flashlight is larger, and it has two options for setting off the alarm making it more useful. I prefer the button because I can set off the alarm with one hand. Hopefully I can also swiftly pull down on it with force with one hand to pull the pin out when it is hanging off my purse, rather than having to use two hands to pull it out. I plan to test the hard tug option. Finally, I like that the pin stays attached to the main unit when pulled out so my hands are freed up in an emergency. I have had no issue with accidentally setting off the alarm, although I hang it on my purse or belt loop on a walk, I don't put it in my purse or pocket. I utimately went back and bought one for my sister who is moving from a small Colorado town to the city in California and my daughter-in-law who often walks my grandbaby alone on popular trails and up in the mountains with my son where they might come upon aggressive wildlife. Now my sister is going to buy one for her daughter who is in on a college campus. I should have taken advantage of the mulitple discount, but I wanted to see if I liked it before purchasing for my family. A personal alarm is a tool for empowerment to be prepared, not fearful. I recommend it.

Once I picked it up, couldn't help myself and activated it in my car."Loud" is a fair description.It's good to practice switching it on/off, in case it is really needed, to confidently and without hesitation or thinking make it work for you.

I hope none of you ever need to use this but you're looking at this type of product for a reason. I hope you're safe and taking care of yourself. If you ever need to defend yourself against someone I hope you give them hell and use this tool to alert others to come to your aid. I feel much safer running on trails now that I have a loud and compact tool to aid in my self defense. This fit perfectly in my hand while I run. I purchased this with the intent of having an audio aid in self defense from another person but an added feature which I hadn't considered was the aid this can provide against animals as well. A loud noise like this could deter an animal from attacking or from hanging around but would also alerts others out of eyesight to be aware of their surroundings. You can activate the alarm by double clicking the button or pulling the keychain connection out of the device. The alarm will continue to sound for over 50 minutes if not turned off. If someone intends to do you harm they are going to be prepared. You need to also be prepared and get comfortable with this tool. I tested mine in my parked car so I knew what to expect if I ever needed to set this off. This tool is intended to distract and stun an attacker not stun or distract you. Take the time to look though the small instruction packet. And please charge the device before you need it. Stay self.

it’s loud and would be easy to trigger since the alarm goes off by pulling it or double pressing the button, which is a good thing. However my car key remote is the same size and requires me to double press the button, so that happened once. It makes me feel safer and it’s the cutest less bulky looking one I’ve been able to find.

This alarm siren has a good size clip making it easy to take on and off keychain. You can either remove the pin or push the large SOS button to sound the alarm. It was not intuitive for me to figure out how to turn it off, which would be a good thing if there's a bad guy. I had to read the instructions and to turn off the alarm you have to hold the big button for 3 whole seconds. The alarm siren is so loud. There is also a flashlight that you press the button once for it to stay on, again to make the light flash, and again to turn off. It also lightweight.
