I've never used one of these before, but everyone seems to use them, and I probably lack technique. I use a quarter like my band teacher said. That said, it works well, but watch out: those tines are really sharp!

Part of a musician's skill set is having the right tone. This brush interacts with the Guiro and your technique slightly differently, resulting in a fresh but familiar tone. I used this brush with a traditionally shaped guiro, but which is 3D printed from hard plastic. The attack is slightly softer, but I was surprised by how much brighter the brush is. If I notice the guiro is being masked or clashing with another instrument, I might try the brush to pull it up out of the mud. I think it is easily worth the small investment to expand your tone range,
