Great locks for traveling only. 2'd generation lock, the first generation was pea grean in color. I bought these be ause the have the longer shank.

These are good quality locks. I highly recommend. Used it for my 24" Samsonite hard case luggage. It does have its own lock, but I chose to use this instead. It withstood many train rides. The long shackle allows you to lock a cable around your luggage for added security.

Just got back from traveling and used these on my 2 suitcases that were checked 4 times in a month, and the locks held up just fine. After one of the flights, I opened my suitcase and I saw the lovely TSA note saying they inspected it, so that answered the question as to whether these can be opened and put back.The keys are tiny so make sure you put them in a secure place in your carry-on as more than once they ended up momentarily lost in the chaos of packing and unpacking.

This is the only lock I could find that works on my travel case. Most have too short a shackle and poor quality mechanisms that make them hard to operate. This TSA lock is long enough to fit through the steel reinforcements on my double lock points on my rolling travel case. The cheap keys on may other brands are difficult to insert and operate their locks, but this one works quite smoothly all the time. One caution, if you don't need the long shackle, in some cases it might get in the way. Short or long shackle the Samsonite branded lock is higher quality than most.
