This review is for the Scarlet Darkness Colonial Dress Womens Pioneer Prairie Dress Civil War Dress with Pockets.So I love this brand, I have numerous pieces from them and I normally love their stuff. This dress grabbed my attention to work it into a renfaire/cosplay outfit. This isn't one I would wear honestly for a modern day outfit.I'm short at 5 foot, so it's longer on me than on most people, the sleeves too LOL they come down to like my forearms towards my wrists. and bring some others colors like burgundy or olive/sage green... in on this for a good outfit with a corset or wide belt, leggings/maybe use skirt hikes or layer another skirt over this using skirt hikes... really make it my own.This can be a lot of fun to play around with! I do see an error in the listing though. It states 98% cotton/2% polyester, then it says 100% cotton...well it can't be both LOL. I do love it's cotton for the nautural fiber and it breathes....and as someone else pointed out there are many diff types/grades of cotton depending on where it's grown/how it's grown, how it's made into thread & then how it's woven into the fabric, there are many many different types of ways to weave it into cloth.... So this is not going to feel like a 100% cotton t-shirt or socks, or high quality thread count bed sheets...If you were to go to the fabric store, say the Joanne's for example, ask an employee to show you diff examples of cotton cloth and give you examples of how each would be used... Makes for great choices and variety on what to use and how to use it.If you wash this and use some good fabric softener on it, toss it in the dryer on fluff dry with some dryer balls.... it will soften the material up to a certain degree, but only so much as the material dictates. It won't really make it any stretchier as in like elastic, but the softer the fibers it may give a little more.There's really nothing "wrong" with this per say, but it's just not going to be one of my favs from them.Regular price $36.99 per the listing is a toss up, if you like it go for it, or as I said I'll play with it for renfaire/cosplay. Maybe wait for a sale/coupon?As always I only do honest reviews and update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.

I went on a trip to Salem, Mass., and I love a theme! It’s where Hocus Pocus was filmed and the site of the Salem Witch Trials. So naturally I needed a colonial/Puritan dress. This dress is comfortable, I packed it in my suitcase and didn't have any issues with wrinkles. I'm on the larger side and I felt comfortable in this dress, not too tight. I ordered an XL. And ... it has POCKETS! It washed fine after we got home. I purchased the bonnet separately.

Wore this dress for Halloween. Quality and stitching were nice. I steamed it to remove wrinkles and wore it with a bonnet, shawl and apron as well as an underskirt to provide volume. It was an excellent costume and I received a lot of compliments. I liked the sash, side zipper and bust strings to customize fit. The only fit issue was I thought the armpit hit a bit low.I ordered a medium. My usual size is a 4-6.

The dress is cute and fit me perfectly. I neeed an outfit for a historic ghost tour, and fell in love with this design. When i went to try it on, I found out it has pockets.A cute dress and pockets made my day. The material is light cotton blend and the seams are made better than many dresses sold at big box stores.

This is a high-quality dress. The detail is fantastic. It was only lightly wrinkled and I was able to steam out the creases. I love the style, the cut the details are excellent.
