Didn't work for us. We have several cats and one has a habit of going behind the couch to do his business, and this didn't stop him at all, unfortunately. Even after repeatedly cleaning the carpets, applying pheromone spray, and placing this product down, he still managed to use that area. Apparently he doesn't mind stepping on it. Might work for a less determined cat?

I liked that this scat mat is a continuous 6.5 foot roll of prickly plastic spikes to discourage pests from walking on it. Other scat mats I've used were squares of prickly mat that I had to connect together but too often would separate at the first movement. The continuous roll allowed me to lay it across an opening next to a fence in my yard without having to worry about occasionally visiting it to ensure it was still in one piece. The reason I took off a star was because this manufacturer decided to use the same plastic for the ground spikes (to secure the mat to the ground) as the mat itself. This plastic is too soft to be used as a spike and could not be driven into the ground to secure this mat. I liked how other brands used metal hooked spikes to attach the mat to the ground. The metal spikes could be much more easily driven into the ground and would stay there. As long as you don't need the hooked spikes to secure the mat to the ground, this scat mat is a very good one because of it being one continuous roll. If you need to secure the mat to the ground, you'd be better off using one of the mats that provide the metal hooks instead.

These scat mats are ok if you can get them to stay unrolled. There's nothing to anchor it with. I cut it into 4 pieces, that was pretty easy with scissors. I'm not sure how well they work. My cat pulls one away from where I have it and he pooped on another one.. I got them to keep him away from certain places he's been urinating, but... Not sure it's working. Not terrible but not a fix either.

I have tried everything under the sun to keep cats out of my yard. None of the scent type options work and so I've tried putting spikes up on top of the fence. However, since I have cedar pickets it's hard to mount them up there and really I need them all the way around the yard and the spikes only come in small packs of 1 foot segments. (Also they get brittle in the sun pretty quickly and fall apart)This mat is a better choice because I can roll it out across the top of the fence and it covers more area quicker and looks a little better than the spikes.

Good idea, but I don't think this type of material is going to last very long. One or two times of getting hot and cold and this thin plastic is going to start snapping and breaking. You also would need at least 2 rolls to have enough to cover anything worth while. Cats jump pretty high and pretty far with not much effort. As I said, it's a good idea, but there's some need for improvement on this item.

The Scat Mat for Cats with Spikes has been a great solution for keeping my cats away from areas where they shouldn't be! The 6.5ft length provides ample coverage, and the prickle strips are effective at discouraging digging and scratching without causing any harm to the cats. The spikes are firm yet gentle, and they work well both indoors and outdoors, whether on furniture, gardens, or around plants. The mat is easy to lay down and cut to size if needed. It's a simple and humane way to protect specific areas from curious cats! Highly recommended for any pet owner dealing with unwanted cat behavior.

This DOOPP Scat Mat for Cats with Spikes / 6.5ft Cat Scat Mat Prickle Strips / Cat Deterrent Repellent Mat is GREAT: I'm using it to protect my garden area and it definitely does keep the neighborhood cats from walking on the soil where those tiny spikes are located. And having a continuous 6.5 foot roll of prickly plastic spikes allowing me to just unroll and lay down a continuous and unbroken run - very nice. No more cats meandering, loitering or using my garden area as their litter box - thank you !!

It does the job at hand, we have a TV set on a stand at a 45-degree angle, and for whatever reason some of my cats insist on going back there and doing things they shouldn't be doing... So I decided to lay these out behind the TV, and as advertised the cats are not going anywhere near behind the TV anymore and they are soft enough that it's not going to harm the cats if they do tempt fate...
