Never in any of our doorknobs have we had a piece of the latch snap off rendering everything useless, even with much cheaper lock set brands. We have 2 exterior doors to our deck that are fairly close together and we want the hardware to match. I wouldn't say our Schlage lock sets are old but we've owned them longer than they've been installed so quite ticked off that we've already had an issue with broken parts. I figured trying to find an exact replacement wasn't going to happen and I definitely didn't want to buy 2 new sets being they're not cheap even if the hub was willing to do that. Amazon to the rescue once again. $20 is something I didn't want to spend for something that shouldn't have broke so soon but it's still cheaper than buying a new lock set.
