After a manual I bought was jammed into our old letter size mail slot,bending it up,I figured it was time to get something wider.This mail slot looks great and works fine.I moved the spring over so the spring is disengaged.Gravity holds it shut and I can't feel any air coming in.So,no need for spring and works great.Makes it easier for mailman to put in mail.

This did not come with screws. It looks nice, but I was disappointed because I was hoping for a better quality mail slot than I already have. I could have gotten the same quality mail slot from Home Depot at a much lower price. I have no way of knowing this is actually a Schlage product since there was no packaging and there was nothing on the mail slot itself to indicate the brand.

Don't waste your money on this one. Quality was very cheap, not what you'd expect from Schlage. No template included for cutting the opening. Single flapper, inside opening is wide open, so the quality of the "cut" must be on the money. I was very disappointed.
