  • Standard cable spacing is 3 studs. Alternating 3-2 stud intervals may be used to increase heat or use more cable length, especially over uninsulated concrete. Spacing over 4 studs is not recommended as it may cause uneven temperatures.

  • Yes, DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cables can be installed on shower benches. Ensure careful installation into the matting with Schluter-KERDI on top. Local inspector or AHJ approval is required for electric floor warming in showers and on benches.

  • DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cables are made to fit the DITRA-HEAT membrane, with power output and cable diameter designed for secure stud placement.

All required tests before, during and after install were up to spec. Worked right away very well, but has since failed and no longer warms at all. Only solution at this point is tearing up tile floor and replacing.
