we haven't been able to test it due to the oar lock insert split while inserting into the boat and the oar sleeve was missing a piece so cannot review this item until I resolve the other two issues.

The quality looks good, but the 1/2" shaft was several thousandths oversize, not 0.500. I have a nylon-lined hole that was 0.500 max. The stainless part of this oarlock seemed light and I was going to be rough on them. I also decided to go with open top oarlocks so gave them away.

I had to enlarge the oar socket insert for this product to work. I should have gotten oar locks that were not encased in plastic. They would have probably been great going in a metal socket without a plastic insert.

These seem to be of good durable quality but the shaft does not protrude past the end of the oar socket on my boat. The easy installation of running a cotter pin horizontally through the end to keep them secure will not work so I have to come up with another solution.

Cheap price, but a quality product. Only drawback is the necessity of a pin or screw in the bottom to keep from falling out of the oarlock mount.

These oarlocks arrived quickly, and are very sturdy and work well. They are not cheap plastic, but instead very solid and work great. I was unused to the offset oarlock, but it works the same - great in fact. These are highly recommended!

I have used these oar locks before and they will take some high power rowing. In addition when my back is out I can reverse them for less reach and a more upright position while rowing. This may not seem like much but it has become important to me. I've broken cast oar locks and even reversed these oar locks hold up.
